NARRATIVE
Renton Case #26-1228
Unless otherwise noted, the following occurred in the City of Renton, County of King, WA.
On 02/12/2026 at approximately 1650 hours 1 was dispatched to an injury collision in the 3000 block
of Lake Washington Blvd N near Mountain View Ave N. While enroute dispatch advised a witness
called regarding the collision and observed airbag deployment. It was also advised that the vehicle
had left the roadway and struck a tree. 1 requested Renton Fire Department to go to the scene to
screen for any possible injuries.
I arrived on scene and observed the vehicle was down the embankment to the west of Lake
Washington Blvd N near Mountain View Ave N. The driver of the vehicle had climbed out of the
sunroof and was with bystanders that stopped to help her on Mountain View Ave N. The vehicle was
bearing WA/A8999662 and was a 2020 Honda Fit. The driver identified herself as Diana Hailesilasie
(DOB 08/25/1997). Diana received care from Renton Fire Department and was transported to Valley
Medical for medical evaluation. She had complaints of soreness but due to the nature of the incident
decided to receive further medical care.
spoke with Diana who advised her car was new, and she was not used to the steering assistant. As
she was coming around the corner the car began to correct the steering wheel to which she
overcorrected and ended up off the roadway after losing control.
Based on the information gathered from involved parties and observations of the collision, the
proximate cause of the collision was Diana overcorrecting and losing control of her vehicle and
steering off the roadway into the brush/embankment.
Gene Meyer arrived on scene and 1 completed a Sector non impound/tow under Renton Case #26-
1228.
1 provided Diana with Renton Case #26-1228 and a copy of the tow form was placed in her vehicle. I
advised her that the vehicle was at Gene Meyer in Renton and to contact them for further instruction
on retrieving her vehicle.
I took photographs of the vehicles and uploaded them to evidence.com under Renton Case #26-
1228.
This concludes my involvement with case #26-1228.
