Transportation Sidewalk Improvement Project
Project Background
This project (D-16) was identified as high
priority (0-10 years) in the 2021 City of
Renton Water System Plan Update, as part
of the Water Main Replacement Program
(P-03).
The intent of the program is to replace
water mains that are past their useful life:
Project Summary
Replace approximately 3,250 linear feet of 8- & 12-
inch diameter asbestos concrete water mains on
NE 24th and NE 16th Street (1953).
Replace 44 water services serving existing homes.
Provide 7 new water main connections to existing
mains; work to be performed by our City crews.
Install 500-feet of new sidewalk along Kennydale
Lions Park, with associated curb ramps,
streetlighting and traffic calming curb bulb-outs.

Staff Recommendation
Authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the agreement with
Kimley-Horn in the amount of $477,600 for the design, bid, and
construction support services for the NE 24th & NE 16th St AC Water Main
and Transportation Sidewalk Improvement Project.
