HomeMy WebLinkAboutAddendum - 1AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO AGREEMENT FOR PARKS AND RECREATION PROCESSES CONSULTANT THIS AMENDMENT, dated for reference purposes only as February 18, 2026, is by and between the City of Renton (the “City”), a Washington municipal corporation, and Ana Cortez (“Consultant”), a sole proprietor. The City and the Consultant are referred to collectively in this Amendment as the “Parties.” Once fully executed by the Parties, this Amendment is effective as of the last date signed by both parties. Whereas, the City engaged the services of the Consultant under the Parties’ Agreement dated September 15, 2025 (CAG-25-301) to provide necessary services for the Parks and Recreation Processes (referred to herein as the “Agreement”); Whereas, the Parties wish to amend the Agreement to change the change the time for performance, and change the compensation in order to provide additional professional services for Parks and Recreation Processes. NOW THEREFORE, it is mutually agreed that the Agreement is amended as follows: 1.Scope of Work: Section 1, Scope of Work, is amended to add work as specified in EXHIBIT A-1, which is attached and incorporated herein. 2.Time of Performance: Section 3, Time of Performance, second sentence, shall be amended as follows: All Work shall be performed by no later than December 31, 2026. 3.Compensation: Section 4, Compensation, is amended so that the maximum amount of compensation payable to Consultant is increased by $29,700.00 from $11,300.00 to $41,000.00, plus any applicable state and local sales taxes. The additional compensation shall be paid based upon Work actually performed according to the rate(s) or amounts specified in EXHIBIT A-1, which is attached and incorporated herein. 4.All terms of the Agreement not explicitly modified herein shall remain in full force and effect and such terms shall apply to Work performed according to this Amendment as if fully set forth herein. Consultant shall perform the services described below in a professional and workmanlike manner and in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and City policies. 1.ϙEmployee Experience / “Penguin Colony” Initiative 1. Consultant shall develop a formal structure for the Employee Experience workgroup, including a written charter and ground rules. 2. Consultant shall convene the Employee Experience workgroup during Quarter 1 of the contract term. 3. Consultant shall prepare and deliver all materials necessary to implement the Customer Service Excellence Award, including but not limited to an annual calendar, marketing and communications materials, and draft City policy with supporting documentation. 2.Data Collection Workgroup 4. Consultant shall establish a formal Data Collection Workgroup structure, including a written charter and ground rules. 5. Consultant shall ensure participation from all relevant internal and external stakeholders. 6. Consultant shall convene the Data Collection Workgroup during Quarter 1 and facilitate agreement on how the workgroup will sustain itself over time. 7. Consultant shall document recommended next steps, protocols, and ongoing processes. 3.Enterprise Workgroup 8. Under the leadership of Jeff Hagen, Consultant shall convene subgroups focused on Human Resources and Finance policies and procedures. 9. Consultant shall facilitate stakeholder engagement and develop a formal structure for the Enterprise Workgroup, including a charter, meeting calendar, and defined roles and responsibilities. 4.Stewardship Workgroup 10. On an as-needed basis, Consultant shall support the Department’s management team in reviewing and interpreting financial information.                  11. Consultant shall assist with the realignment of boards and commissions, as appropriate. 12. Consultant shall support incorporation of the Department’s evolving human services focus into the organizational structure. 5. Compensation and Contract Limit The total number of hours authorized under this Agreement shall not exceed 220 hours. Consultant shall be compensated at a rate of $135 per hour. The total contract amount shall not exceed $29,700, unless amended in writing and approved in accordance with City requirements. Invoices will be submitted monthly. 6. Deliverables All deliverables produced under this Exhibit A shall become the property of the City unless otherwise provided in the Agreement. Deliverables shall be provided in formats acceptable to the City and within timelines mutually agreed upon by the City and Consultant.
