Unless otherwise noted,the following occurred within the city limits of Renton, county of King, state of
Washington.
On 03/24/2026, 1 was working as a uniformed police officer for the city of Renton.At approximately 2035
hours, I was dispatched to a hit-and-run collision at the intersection of NE Sunset Blvd and Aberdeen Ave NE.
Any statements referred to have been paraphrased and summarized.
Vehicle information:
Suspect vehicle: red 2023 Mazda CX-30(WA lic/CKF4517)
Reporting party vehicle: black 2022 Tesla Model S (WA lic/CTU9748)
I called the reporting party(who is also the registered owner) and learned the following:
He was headed westbound on NE Sunset Blvd in the 2100 block at about 0928 hours on this date.
There was a lot of traffic at this time of day as he waited to merge onto Interstate 405.The suspect
vehicle merged into his lane (he could only identify his lane as the "middle lane")from the left.This
left cosmetic damage to the front driver's side quarter panel of his vehicle.The suspect vehicle should
have damage to the front passenger side quarter panel.The driver(unknown description) never made
any attempt to stop and exchange information as a result of the collision. Due to the impact created
by the collision, he does not believe that the suspect vehicle driver would not have known they were
involved in a collision.
I consulted several law enforcement databases in an attempt to locate contact information for the suspect
vehicle's registered owner,to no avail. I provided the reporting party with a case number and sent him an
AXON citizen link to upload any photos/videos he took.As of the time of this report, I have not received any
footage from him.
