GENERAL NOTES
ALL WORKMANSHIP AND MATERIALS SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS
OF THE LATEST STATE OF WASHINGTON, DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION STANDARD
SPECIFICATIONS FOR ROAD AND BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION AND PUBLIC WORKS STANDARDS.
BURIED UTILITIES ARE SHOWN IN THEIR APPROXIMATE LOCATIONS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
HAVE THE EXISTING UTILITIES VERIFIED ON THE GROUND PRIOR TO ANY CONSTRUCTION.
ON SITE EROSION CONTROL SHALL BE THE CONTRACTORS RESPONSIBILITY. ANY PROBLEMS
OCCURRING TO FINAL ACCEPTANCE BY THE ENGINEER SHALL BE CORRECTED BY THE
CONTRACTOR AT HIS EXPENSE.
ALL SITE WORK IMPROVEMENTS SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPROVED
PLANS. ANY DEVIATION FROM APPROVED PLANS WILL REQUIRE PRIOR APPROVAL FROM
THE OWNER, ENGINEER AND APPROPRIATE PUBLIC AGENCIES.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE APPLICANTS ARCHITECT IN THE EVENT OR DISCOVERY
OF POOR SOIL OR STANDING GROUND WATER.
THE STORM DRAIN PIPE, IN PART, IS A SHALLOW INSTALLATION. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
IMPLEMENT MEASURES AS REQUIRED TO PROTECT THE PIPES DURING CONSTRUCTION.
ALL FRAME, GRATES AND SOLID COVERS SHALL BE CAST IRON OR DUCTILE IRON AND
SHALL MEET WSDOT STANDARDS. ALL COVERS SHALL BE STAMPED "DRAIN"
WHERE NEW WORK IS SHOWN CONNECTION WITH AN EXISTING UTILITY PROVIDE THE
NECESSARY COUPLINGS FOR THE CONNECTION AND SIZE TRANSITION AS REQUIRED.
ALL UTILITY CASTINGS NOT IN THE TRAFFIC AREA SHALL BE SET TO FINISHED GRADE.
CASTINGS SET IN THE TRAFFIC AREA SHALL CONFORM TO WSDOT STANDARDS 9-06.14
AND 9-06.9. ALL TRAFFIC AREA GRATES SHALL BE DEPRESSED 0.04 FEET TO INSURE
ADEQUATE DRAINAGE.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE ARCHITECT WITH AS -BUILT BLUELINE PRINTS PRIOR
TO FINAL APPROVAL.
TWO (2) WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO ANY EXCAVATION, THE CONTRACTOR MUST CONTACT
LINE LOCATING SERVICES FOR LOCATION OF EXISTING UTILITIES.
ALL DUCTILE IRON PIPE AND FITTINGS SHALL BE CLASS 52 UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED
ON THE DRAWING CONFORMING TO ANSI/AWWA C111/A21.11 SPECIFICATIONS. ALL FITTING
JOINTS TO BE FASTITE PUSH -ON WITH GASKET, MECHANICAL, OR FLANGED (6" MIN COVER)
AN APPROVED PLAN SET MUST BE ON THE JOB SITE WHENEVER CONSTRUCTION IS IN
PROGRESS.
