ALL OTHER MAST ARM MOUNTED SIGN DESIGNATION CODES WILL REFER TO THE CURRENT EDITION OF THE MUTCD UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. 4.ALL POLE PENETRATIONS SHALL BE MADE IN THE FIELD. 5.EMERGENCY PRE-EMPTION DETECTORS SHALL BE MOUNTED HIGHER THAN STREET NAME SIGNS OR OTHER CONFLICTING APPURTENANCES ENSURING A CLEAR LINE OF SIGHT. 6.ALL SIGNAL POLES SHALL BE INSTALLED A MINIMUM OF 3 FT FROM THE FACE OF CURB. 7.CONTRACTOR SHALL CONFIRM THAT MINIMUM OF 10 FT CLEARANCE IS PROVIDED BETWEEN SIGNAL POLES/LUMINAIRE POLES PRIOR TO POURING FOUNDATIONS. IF CONFLICT IS DISCOVERED, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE RESIDENT ENGINEER IMMEDIATELY. 8.ALL EXISTING FIELD WIRING, WHICH IS NO LONGER NEEDED, SHALL BE REMOVED AFTER NEW SIGNAL TURN-ON. 9.ALL CONDUITS CONTAINING CONDUCTORS SHALL INCLUDE GROUND WIRE. GROUND WIRE SIZE SHALL MATCH THE LARGEST CONDUCTOR (MIN. #8 UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED). 10.ALL EMPTY / SPARE CONDUITS SHALL CONTAIN PULL TAPE COMPLIANT WITH RELEVANT AHJ SPECIFICATIONS. 11.ALL CABLES INSTALLED BY THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE LABELED IN EACH JUNCTION BOX AND CONTROLLER CABINET. 12.ALL EXISTING PULL ROPE OR PULL TAPE USED FOR THE INSTALLATION OF NEW CABLING SHALL BE REPLACED WITH A NEW PULL TAPE OF THE TYPE DESCRIBED IN THE AHJ SPECIFICATIONS. 13.ALL EXISTING SIGNAL EQUIPMENT SHALL BE MAINTAINED AND PROTECTED IN PLACE UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. 14. PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION, CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY THAT MINIMUM OVERHEAD CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT WILL BE SATISFIED. CONTRACTORS SHALL MAKE ADJUSTMENTS THROUGH MOUNTING TYPE IF NEEDED. 15.UTILITY LOCATION (CALL 811 BEFORE YOU DIG) PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR. CONFLICTS SHALL BE BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE ENGINEER FOR RESOLUTION. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES TO UTILITIES DURING CONSTRUCTION. 16.CONTRACTOR SHALL KEEP EXISTING SIGNALS FULLY OPERATIONAL THROUGHOUT CONSTRUCTION UNTIL CHANGED OVER TO NEW SIGNAL SYSTEM, WHICH SHALL OCCUR IN ACCORDANCE WITH AN APPROVED TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN. TIME FOR SIGNAL CHANGE OVER SHALL BE COORDINATED WITH THE APPROPRIATE JURISDICTION TO MINIMIZE DISRUPTION TO TRAFFIC. 17.THE LOCATION OF ALL PROPOSED CONDUITS, JUNCTION BOXES AND CABINETS SHOWN ON THESE PLANS ARE FOR GRAPHICAL PRESENTATION ONLY. FINAL LOCATIONS SHALL BE VERIFIED WITH THE ENGINEER IN THE FIELD. 18.ALL NEW POLE AND CABINET FOUNDATION LOCATIONS SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE ENGINEER PRIOR TO EXCAVATION. CONTRACTOR SHALL CHECK FOR MINIMUM OVERHEAD CLEARANCE OF 16'6" FOR ALL SIGNAL HEADS ABOVE THE STREET PRIOR TO POURING OF FOUNDATION. 19.ALL PEDESTRIAN HEADS, PUSH BUTTONS AND SIGNAL HEADS SHALL BE SECURELY AND COMPLETELY COVERED WITH YELLOW, TAN OR WHITE MATERIAL WHILE NOT IN OPERATION. 20.NEW APS STYLE PUSH BUTTON ASSEMBLIES SHALL BE INSTALLED FACING THE INTERSECTION AND PARALLEL WITH THE ASSOCIATED CROSSWALK. ORIENTATION OF THE APS PUSH BUTTON SHALL BE VERIFIED BY THE ENGINEER IN THE FIELD PRIOR TO ORDERING THE PUSH BUTTON. INSTALL PEDESTRIAN PUSH BUTTON PER WSDOT STANDARD PLAN J-20.26-01. 21.ALL NEW AND EXISTING JUNCTION BOXES TO BE REPLACED SHALL BE NON-SKID TYPE. WHEN PLACED IN A SIDEWALK, JUNCTION BOXES SHALL BE LOCATED 4 FT AWAY FROM ALL SIGNAL POLES THAT HAVE A PUSH BUTTON MOUNTED ON THEM.
