NARRATIVE
Incident Summary
While exiting 1-405 onto Rainier Avenue South, I merged into the left-turn lane for South Grady Way while the signal was red.
A driver behind me created space for my merge. As I completed the lane change, the vehicle in front of me braked abruptly.
Despite immediate braking, my vehicle made light contact with their rear bumper.
Post-Collision
I remained stopped for several seconds, expecting the other driver to exit their vehicle. I observed the occupants through their
window but did not feel safe approaching the car on foot in active traffic. When the light turned green, the vehicles behind me
began honking. I waited for the driver ahead to pull over to a safe location to exchange information, but they remained
stationary with hazard lights on and did not exit.
Reporting
To avoid obstructing traffic, I proceeded to my scheduled service appointment nearby. Immediately upon arrival, I contacted
the police to report the incident and was directed to this website to file a formal report. My vehicle is currently at the service
station, and I am documenting this event to ensure proper notification.
