EG92623 CASE# 26-2660 DATE OF COLLI r�510NN + 04/06/26 13:58 L1 NARRATIVE CC 26-2660 On 4/6/2026 at 1400 hours I was dispatched to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Hardie Ave SW and SW 7th St in the City of Renton, King County, Washington. Pre-Collision Driver 2 stated that she was traveling West on SW 7th St in the #2 lane approaching Hardie Ave SW. Driver 1 stated that she was stopped at a red-light facing South on Hardie Ave SW at SW 7th St preparing to perform a righthand turn to proceed West on SW 7th St. Collision Driver 2 stated that as she entered the intersection with a green light, Unit 1 began its righthand turn and turned wide, entering the #2 lane. Driver 2 stated that she was unable to stop to avoid a collision and the front passenger side bumper of Unit 2 collided with the rear drivers side door of Unit 1. Driver 1 stated that she looked and did not see Unit 2. Driver 1 stated that Unit 2 must have been speeding because she had not seen her. Driver 1 stated that she began her righthand turn and upon doing so, the front passenger side bumper of Unit 2 collided with the rear drivers side door of Unit 1. Driver 2 informed me that she did not have insurance. Injuries None reported. Vehicle Disposition Both vehicles were operational. Proximate Cause I determined that Driver 1 is the proximate cause of this collision because it shall be a traffic infraction, subject to RCW 7.80.120(1)(a), for any person to drive a motor vehicle on any public highway, street, alley, or road in an inattentive manner in the City of Renton. "Inattentive manner" in this section means a lack of: 1) attentiveness required to safely operate the vehicle under the prevailing conditions, including, but not limited to, the nature and condition of the roadway, the weather conditions, the presence of pedestrians, the presence of other traffic, or by the driver focusing or directing the driver's attention to something other than driving the motor vehicle; or 2) attentiveness that would permit the driver of a motor vehicle to observe anything resting on, or traveling on, or entering the roadway in time to take appropriate action as circumstances require. Had Driver 1 been attentive to the presence of other traffic, this collision would not have happened. Driver 1 was cited reference RMC 10-12-25. Driver 2 was cited reference RCW 46.30.020 due to not having insurance at the time of collision.
