I did receive a response from our transportation department on a previous project that addresses Filterra’s in Rainier and the loading requirements. It’s good news and, yes, we can
accept the substitution. I’m attaching the Rainier project RAM as reference and think that the RFI should be likely responded to by the RE in a similar manner.

Good afternoon Joey,
It appears that FIL-1 is located within the ROW of Rainier in the planter strip behind the curb placing it in City/WSDOT ROW. No concerns about FIL-2.
I have the question out to our transportation capital projects team to see if we’ve had this problem in the past or if it’s just a matter of it being overspeced on your plans. Waiting
to hear back. Have concern it may have to meet specific structural requirements since located in the arterial ROW.

FYI we received the following RFI from Shimmick (via Contech) regarding the HS design load revision for FIL-1 and FIL-2. This is the RFI that I mentioned would be forthcoming in the
attached email.
Have you had a chance to review and is the City ok with the proposed alternative for the loading design on FIL-1 and FIL-2? It looks like they’re both within the ST property so I’m
not sure how much the City needs to weigh in?
