Hi Mike,
I’m following up on our conversation on 3/26. I mentioned that I had a follow up discussion with our project arborist after we met with the City arborist, and ours noted that she does
not recommend western red cedar as a street tree and also noted that western red cedar is not on the city’s street tree list. I had requested to you that perhaps the change can be addressed
with direction from the inspector and documented in the as-builts, rather than Metro submitting revised plans that are not supported by our arborist.

We all met yesterday to discuss on of the project sites as seen in the snip below. The 4 city trees circled in blue are currently planned to be replaced with Parrotia persica and I would
like to have them changed to western red cedar (6' tall, potted or b&b).
Do you know what the process is to make that change?

I am on the KC Metro team overseeing the I-Line project that is getting ready to start up. Prior to construction starting we wanted to walk our Phase 1 sites with the contractor and
look at any potential tree impacts. Would you have time on Wednesday (3/11) to join us in the field to walk the Phase 1 sites that have impacts? Does morning or afternoon work better
for you? If Wednesday doesn’t work is there a day this week that does work for you?
