RE: C25001828/ PR24-000084 Renton Regional Fire Authority – Civil Construction Permit
Modifications
Dear Mr. Huy Huynh,
Renton Regional Fire Authority and the Design Team for the Renton RFA New Fire Station 16 and
Maintenance are submitting modifications to the Civil Construction Permit as follows:
PSE has requested that the new 3-phase power required for the project be installed underground from the
existing utility pole, located on the north side of SE 128th Street, south along 158th Ave SE to the existing utility
located at the existing alley way. Power will then be routed underground from the existing utility pole at the
alley way to the new transformer on the site.
This contrasts with the existing plans which show 3-phase power routed underground from a relocated utility
pole, located approximately 25 feet south of the site, north along 158th Ave SE to the new driveway where it
turns east and routes underground to the new transformer.
It is intended that 3-phase power street crossing at SE 128th Street will be directly bored. After the crossing,
the 3-phase power will be trenched to the existing utility pole at the alley way. Directional boring will be used
again from the existing utility at the ally way to the west property line to minimize impact to trees 2686 and
2682 which shall remain.
Existing tree 2708 located within the City Right-of-Way will need to be removed to make way for the new utility
trench. Tree 2708 will be replaced with two new 6-foot-tall Douglas firs. Please note that tree 2708 appears
to have been topped numerous time and is current growing up into the existing overhead utility lines.
