b) HSAC Membership update/ Potential new member
The Renton Human Services Advisory Committee (HSAC) has four vacancies. An interview process was
done last year to fill a vacancy, and Fred Capestany was selected to be appointed. He was introduced at
the meeting, HSAC members asked him questions, and they unanimously recommended his
appointment to the Committee.
Brief discussion occurred on potentially reducing the HSAC membership from eleven to nine members in
the future to be more in line with other local cities, who have seven or nine members.
a) Mavor Pavone Introduction
Mayor Armondo Pavone stopped by the meeting to introduce himself and thank the members for their
time and commitment to the community.

c) 2027-2028 Aqplication Process Discussion
The 2027-2028 human services funding application process opened March 2, 2026 with applications due
April 6, 2026 through the SharelApp portal. Two Funders Workshops were held in early March and
Renton will be having three drop-in assistance sessions in mid-late March.
Renton is planning to increase City provided outreach and housing stabilization services, so applications
supporting that and Renton focused are prioritized. Committee agreed to assign a funding percent goal
to the two priority areas after applications were received.
A proposed one-page simplified Rating Tool for application scoring was presented to the Committee.
They were asked to review the proposed Rating Tool and provide comments/revisions prior to the next
meeting.
d) Other/Info Sharin
Upcoming events include the Volunteer Appreciation Event on April 14, 2026, Renton State of the City
Address on March 25, 2026; and various agency events. The Renton Senior Activity Center will be closed
from April 15 to September 15, 2026 for roofing, HVAC, siding improvements, with activities moved to
other city facilities.
Discussed how HSAC members would like information about non-funded Agency fundraising events that
were emailed to them via the City, and they agreed that mentioning them at HSAC meetings would be
preferred.
6. ADJOURNMENT The meeting was adjourned at 4:57 p.m. The next regular Human Services
Advisory Committee (HSAC) meeting is scheduled for April 21, 2026 at 3:00 p.m.
