DLState DLExp Address Primary Phone&Type AdditionalContact Number&Type Additional Contact Number&Type Race Sex DOB- Height Weight Even Hair Collision 2026-00003246 Paqe 2 OF 5 Case Number 2026-00003246 Officer Narrative Narrative On 04/26/2026, 1 was working uniformed patrol in a marked police car as 3R23.At approximately 1817 hours, I was dispatched to a blocking accident at the intersection of N Marion St/Factory Pl N, which is located within the city limits of Renton, County of King, Washington. Dispatch advised that a BNSF railway officer was on-scene at the location with two vehicles that were involved in a motor vehicle collision.The BNSF officer told dispatch there were no reported injuries and that the vehicles were blocking the northbound. When I arrived, I relieved the BNSF officer.At this time, I identified the vehicles and their respective occupants as described.They are labeled Unit 1 and Unit 2, respectively. I noticed that both vehicles were indeed blocking the left-most lane (lane 3) of northbound Factory Pl N. I went to speak to the driver of Unit 1. My conversation with him is summarized as follows: Unit 1 confirmed that he was the sole occupant of his vehicle. Unit 1 stated he was driving northbound on Factory Pl N in the middle lane (lane 2). He mentioned something to the effect of trying to switch lanes to turn onto westbound N Marion St. Unit 1 did not see Unit 2,who was in the adjacent lane on his left, and proceeded to sideswipe the front passenger-side bumper/wheel-well area of Unit 2. Unit 1 mentioned that it appeared that Unit 2 was driving at a high rate of speed before the collision. I observed no airbags deployed in Unit 1, a broken driver's side mirror, and a damaged front driver's side bumper. The vehicle appeared operable. Unit 1 reported no injuries and mentioned that he was wearing his seat belt. He also mentioned he did not have a dash camera device. I was then able to speakto the driver of Unit 2. She mentioned she had 2 other children in the back seat with her during the time of the collision,who were now in another family member's vehicle. My conversation with her is summarized as follows: The driver of Unit 2 was in the left-most northbound lane of Factory PI N. She saw Unit 1 to her right in the adjacent lane. Unit 1 began merging into her lane and eventually side-swiped the passenger side of her car. When I took a Look around Unit 2, 1 saw no airbags deployed. I also saw that the vehicle had a slightly damaged passenger side bumper and wheel, which was flat. I also saw that the front driver's side tire was flat. Unit 2 did not appear operable. Unit 2 reported no injuries to her or any of her passengers at the time of the collision. She also mentioned that all subjects in her vehicle were wearing their seatbeLts. She also mentioned that she did not have any dash camera footage. I was also able to speak to a witness who remained on scene as listed above. She described observing the following: The witnesses mentioned she was in the right-most lane (lane 1) of Factory PL N, also headed northbound. She saw Unit 1 in the middle lane and Unit 2 in the Left-most Lane, also headed northbound. She described that she believed Unit 1 was attempting to get into the Left-most Lane before ultimately side-swiping Unit 2, which was already in that Lane of travel. I provided both Unit 1 and Unit 2 with a Renton PD business card with the associated case number for their records. Unit 1 Left the location in his vehicle as it was still drivable. Unit 2 remained on Location until Gene Meyer Tow arrived to take possession of the vehicle. Associated photos were uploaded to Evidence.com to be added to the case file. Based on the totality of the circumstances, it appears that Unit 1 was the proximate cause of the collision. This concludes my report.
