On April 28, 2026, at 1211 hours, dispatch requested that I contact a victim of a recent hit and run that
occurred near the intersection of Rainier Ave S and S Grady Way, in the city of Renton, county of King, and
state of Washington.
Upon contact, I spoke with the victim identified as Gurmit Khokhar. Gurmet explained he was at the
intersection in the eastbound lanes waiting for the traffic light to turn green. While standing, he felt a slight
jolt forward. He peered up into his rear-view mirror and realized that he was struck from behind.
He exited the vehicle and contacted the driver of an older Chevy Silverado. He noticed that his damage was
minor, but the driver of the other vehicle was described as a Hispanic male in his mid-30s wearing a
landscaping outfit. He was accompanied by his front passenger who appeared to be a female also wearing
landscaping attire.The driver of the Chevy Silverado told Gurmit that he would give him $500.00 for the
damage sustained by his vehicle. Gurmit said no and subsequently asked that they exchange information. The
other driver obliged and suggested that they go together to the nearest Toyota dealership to get the damage
fixed. Gurmet agreed.
While traveling to dealership,the driver of the Silverado fled the area.
Gurmit did not obtain a proper plate for the suspect vehicle or a WADL for the driver.The plate provided by
Gurmit was (WA/C06679T).The plate returned to a 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 which is registered out of Port
Orchard.The registered owner was Robert Hollingsworth who did not match the driver description
whatsoever.
Gurmit reassured me that he was certain that the vehicle that struck him was a Chevy Silverado. On my work
computer I showed him the photograph of an older Silverado, and he confirmed it was a Silverado.
I asked if he wanted to pursue criminal charges against the other driver if found and he said no.
I provide Gurmit with my contact information and case number.
