EG99596 CASE# 26-2970 OF COLLISION 04/16/26 13:47 OF CbLLI510N NARRATIVE blk/2 lane 2 eb blk/1 left turn 1/dwls3 / no ins/tabs CC On 4/16/2026 at about 1347 hours within the city limits of Renton/King/Wa I responded to a 2 vehicle unknown if injury crash at the intersection of Airport Way at Shattuck Ave S. While enroute it was upgraded to injury crash with Renton Fire enroute. I arrived and located a badly damaged Camaro facing south just south of Airport Way. Fire was treating a male on the sidewalk near the Camaro. A Tahoe was was parked south of the Camaro in a nearby parking lot. I contacted the driver of unit 1 ID'd by his picture WADL as Conroy, Javontay J 09-13-1993. He told me he was making a left turn from Airport onto southbound Shattuck Ave S while the light was yellow. He said the traffic eastbound had stopped in lanes 2 and 3 and he identified this as his free left turn. He told me he thought unit 2 was in lane 1 and should have stopped while he made his left turn. Unit 2 contacted unit 1 in the B pillar and send unit 1 over the curb and into a building and street sign. Unit 1 did not complain of injury and damages required a tow truck. I contacted unit 2 at the scene. He was, at that time, in no shape to chat about the crash. He was being treated by Renton Fire while waiting for Medics. It was later determined he would remain with Renton Fire who eventually transported him to VMC-ED for further treatment. I contacted unit 2 in room 45 at VMC-ED. He told me the left side of his body hurt. He told me he could not recall exactly his speed, he said 30 maybe, but he wasnt speeding as he just purchased his dream car which he had just 2 weeks. He said he was approaching and proceeding through the intersection as the light had just turned to yellow when unit 1 cut in front of him. He told me he slammed on the brakes but it was too late. He told me his car spun and was now on a different road. He told me he took his seatbelt off and went to see if the other driver was okay and then fell to the ground. His vehicle was towed for serious damages. I was able to locate tire marks left by both unit 1 and 2. 1 was clear to me unit 2 was in lane 2 and was swerving towards lane 1 to potentially avoid unit 1 following his tire marks to POI in lane 1. Unit 1 left marks over the sidewalk, into the side of a building, a sign and back into the roadway. Unit 1 told me he recently purchased the vehicle he was driving at the time of the crash and did not have valid proof of insurance for his Tahoe. A WACIC/DOL check revealed his tabs out of Oregon expired 03-13-2025 with his Oregon license still displayed. A WACIC/DOL check of Conroy/unit 1 revealed he was Driving While Suspended Third Degree. I cited unit 1/Conroy ref RCW 46.20.342.1.c Driving While Suspended third degree via the Renton Prosecutors office. I also cited unit 1 Ref RCW 46.61.185 FTYROW left turn 2 vehicle injury crash, Ref RCW 46.30.020 and Ref RCW 46.16A.020.0 expired tabs more than 2 months via complaint. Unit 1 did drive while DWLS 3rd with no valid insurance for his vehicle while tabs expired by over a year and made a left turn failing to yield to another vehicle/unit 2 lawful upon the roadway causing a 2 vehicle injury crash.
