The following occurred in the City of Renton, King County, Washington unless otherwise stated.
During this incident 1 was equipped with body-worn camera which records both audio and video.
Portions of the incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is not
intended to be an exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured
with the recording system. During this incident I was wearing a department issued uniform or jump
suit and outer carrier vest which was marked with "Police"on the front, "Renton Police"on the
back, with department patches on each shoulder of the uniform or jumpsuit, as well as a Renton
Police Velcro badge on my►eft chest. It would be immediately obvious to any reasonable person
that I was a Police Officer.
On 5/4/2026 at 1344 hours I was dispatched to a hit and run report that occurred on 04/29/2026 at
the intersection of S 3rd St and Morris Ave S.
The reporting person, Gunnar D. Petersen (DOB: 01/20/2006), stated that his girlfriends 10 month
old Chou Chou puppy (Canela) got loose on this day. Petersen identified his girlfriend as Daniela M.
Servellon Olivia (DOB: 12/06/2004).
Petersen stated that Canela was loose and got into the roadway at the intersection of S 3rd St and
Smithers Ave S. Petersen stated that there was a white truck of an unknown make and model that
was driving East on S 3rd St in an unknown lane. Petersen stated that others on scene saw the truck
hit Canela and flee the scene. Canela (the dog) later died of her injuries.
Petersen advised that nobody is able to identify the driver of vehicle in this case.
