A reporting party said their vehicle was struck by another vehicle, a red Toyota Prius (WA/ CNI_6669), which fled south on Rainier Avenue S without stopping after the collision. I arrived at approximately 1413 hours. UNIT 1:TOYOTA PRIUS Unit 1, the suspect vehicle, was described as a red 2010 Toyota Prius (WA/CNL6669). The victim took a photograph of the vehicle as it fled. I sent the victim an Axon Community Request Link to upload the photograph. UNIT 2:JEEP COMPASS I located a silver 2024 Jeep Compass (WA/CWL0444) parked in the parking lot of Popeyes facing west. Unit 2 had no noticeable damage from the collision.The victim said several small scratches on the rear bumper were from the collision, but the scratches did not appear consistent with a recent collision. DRIVER 1: UNKNOWN The victim did not see the driver of Unit 1.There is no description available. M. I contacted Adell G. M. Austin (DOB: 10/04/1982) sitting in the driver seat of Unit 2. 1 positively identified Austin by her valid Washington Driver License and established her as the driver of Unit 2 by her admission.Austin was not injured. PASSENGER I identified Maniyah K. Austin (DOB: 10/25/2001) as the uninjured front passenger of Unit 2. STATEMENT:AUSTIN ADELL G. Austin told me the following about the collision. Austin and Maniyah were parked in the Popeyes parking lot eating lunch. Unit 1 suddenly backed into their parked vehicle, striking the rear of Unit 2. Unit 1 quickly fled south on Hardie Avenue SW then on Rainier Avenue S without exchanging information. Austin did not see the driver of the vehicle. WITNESS Austin said a Popeyes employee came out following the collision and gave his name and phone number to them.The phone call went straight to voicemail.
