EG99707 CASE# 26-3117 OF COLLISION 04/22/26 09:58 OF CbLLI510N NARRATIVE CC 26-3117 On 4/22/2026 at 1000 hours I was dispatched to a motor vehicle collision at Bronson Way N and Houser Way N in the City of Renton, King County, Washington. Pre-Collision Driver 2 stated that he was facing East on Bronson Way N in the #1 lane preparing to go straight ahead. Driver 1 stated that she was on Houser Way N facing North in the #1 lane preparing to perform a righthand turn to proceed East on Bronson Way N. Collision Driver 2 stated that his light turned green and he waited for the traffic in the intersection to clear out before proceeding through the intersection. Driver 2 stated that as he proceeded through the intersection Unit 1 emerged from his right and the front drivers side bumper of Unit 1 collided with the rear passenger side door of Unit 2. Driver 1 stated that she was within the intersection already before the light turned red. Driver 1 stated that she was trying to proceed and clear the intersection when the collision occurred. Driver 2 had a dashcam that I was able to review which shows that Driver 1 waited about 13 seconds for the intersection to clear. Driver 2 was presented with a clear lane of travel and proceeded straight with a steady green circle. Unit 1 came into frame and the front bumper of Unit 1 was about halfway over the crosswalk on the South side of the intersection. Unit 1 then entered the intersection where the collision occurred. At this intersection, traffic on Houser Way N has a posted no right turn on red sign. Injuries None reported Vehicle Disposition Both vehicles were operational Proximate Cause I determined that Driver 1 is the proximate cause of this collision because the driver of any vehicle shall follow the instructions of any official traffic control device applicable thereto, and as specified in this chapter, placed in accordance with the provisions of this chapter, unless otherwise directed by a traffic or police officer, subject to the exception granted the driver of an authorized emergency vehicle in this chapter. Had Driver 1 obeyed the posted traffic control device instructing her to not turn right on red, this collision would not have happened.
