On May 1st, 2026, at 0755 hours, dispatch requested that I contact a victim of a recent hit and run that
occurred near the intersection of Maple Valley Hwy and 140th Way Se, in the city of Renton, county of King,
and state of Washington.
Upon contact, I spoke with the victim identified as Rebecca L. Bailey(12/06/1986). Rebeeca told me she was
traveling westbound on Maple Valley Hwy and approaching the intersection of 140th Way SE in lane 2 of 2. As
she came to a complete stop, Unit#1 struck the rear of her vehicle causing little to no damage. Rebecca tried
flagging Unit#1 down, but the driver fled the scene instead.They fled at a high rate of speed and were last
seen going northbound on Sunset Blvd N.
Rebecca managed to take a photograph of Unit#1 which was identified as a Tesla Model 3 bearing
Washington plates CVG2894.The registered owner of the vehicle was Robert W. Sweringen (07/17/1976).
Robert a listed address out of Black Diamond, WA.
Rebecca described the driver as a black female with black curly hair.
Using our law enforcement database, I was able to locate contact information for Robert. When contacted,
Robert told me that the vehicle belongs to him but is allowing his daughter to use it for the time being. His
daughter was identified as 18-year-old Aubrey D. Burnett (07/09/2007), who lives with his ex-wife at the
Sunset Terrace Apartments, 2715 Sunset Ln NE, in Renton.
Robert asked that 1 meet him at his daughter's apartments so we can have a conversation about the collision.
Later, around 1020 hours, I met Robert and Aubrey at her apartment.There, Aubrey told me that she
remembered the incident but does not recall colliding with another vehicle.Aubrey said she was traveling
westbound on Maple Valley Hwy and approaching the intersection of 140th Way SE when the incident took
place.While slowing, she came to a stop behind Unit#2. Subsequently, Unit#2 turned on their hazards and
waved at Aubrey.Aubrey said that the driver's gesture appeared to be waving her away, as if someone was
telling her to drive around.Aubrey then drove around Unit#2 and continued west until she made a right turn
on Sunset Blvd N.
I collected Aubrey's information and attached it to this case.Aubrey believed there was no contact between
the two vehicles because her vehicle sustained no damage. She showed me a photograph of her vehicle. I did
not see any damage.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.

I then contacted Rebecca and asked if she wanted to pursue criminal charges against Aubrey. Rebecca said no
because she wouldn't want her 18-year-old to be arrested.
Rebecca attached a photograph of the driver and vehicle of Unit#1 on Axon.After reviewing the photo, I
confirmed that Aubrey was the driver.
I sent Robert an Axon link as well.
