Unless otherwise noted, all events took place in the City of Renton, in the County of King, in the State of
Washington.
This report is a summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events.
On 05/09/2026 at approximately 1214 hours I was dispatched to a hit and run that occurred at NE 12th St and
Sunset Blvd NE in the city of Renton, King County, WA.
The reporting party and owner of the hit vehicle was identified by his WADL as Tran, Hung Le DOB
07/03/1957. He stated that he was parking his 2000 Toyota Camry with WA LIC CVV7319 on NE 12th St while
enroute to visit the near by Viet Wah grocery store. While parking, a vehicle with WA LIC CUV4553 hit him in
the rear bumper.
Hung followed the vehicle for a couple of blocks in an attempt to get them to pull over. He was unable to do
so and was unable to get a picture of the vehicle. He did describe it as yellow and provided dispatch with the
license plate however. Hung informed me he would not be able to identify the driver.
Damage to Hung's car was minor,with no visible marks to his rear bumper. He did end up pointing out how
the driver side corner of the bumper was out of place however. Hung also stated that his back hurt from the
collision and that it caused him pain. Renton Fire was dispatched to the scene and medically cleared Hung. He
stated he had a previous back surgery and that his legs felt numb.
Images of the damage were uploaded to Axon.
If the driver and vehicle that hit Hung's car can be identified,there is probable cause to arrest them for
46.52.020 duty on striking an unattended car or other property(hit and run)for running into his 2000 Toyota
Camry with WA LIC CVV7319 and failing to stop and exchange information.
