Unless otherwise noted, all events took place in the City of Renton, in the County of King, in the State of
Washington.
This report is a summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events.
On 05/18/2026 at approximately 0947 hours I was dispatched to a follow up to a hit and run that occurred at
LA Fitness located at 715 N Landing Way in the city of Renton, King County,WA.The original hit and run
occurred on 05/11/2026.
The reporting party and owner of the hit vehicle was identified by his WADL as Cherpak, Ilya DOB 10/14/1994.
He had originally informed me that he was at LA Fitness for approximately 3hrs working out on 05/11/2026.
He returned to his vehicle, a black 2015 Mercedes C-class with WA LIC BZS1962, around 1300 hours and found
that his front driver side bumper had been damaged.
A manager at LA Fitness, Braverman, Curtis,was able to show me video of the incident that day. Unfortunately
cameras from their parking lot were unable to capture a plate.The video shows that a vehicle had parked next
to Ilya and when they left their spot,they turned to sharply, bumping Ilya's vehicle with visible movement and
leaving damage to the corner of his front driver side bumper.
Ilya called on 05/18/2026 and informed me that Curtis had contacted him and provided him a WA LIC
CPM8119,which returns to a 2025 Honda HRV,that had hit his vehicle.The vehicle has two registered owners
listed. I attempted to contact Curtis to verify how the information was obtained, but was told he is out of
town on vacation.
Images of the damage and video of the suspect vehicle hitting Ilya's car were uploaded to Axon.
If the driver of the car that hit Ilya's car can be identified,there is probable cause to arrest them for 46.52.020
duty on striking an unattended car or other property(hit and run)for running into his 2015 Mercedes C Class
with WA LIC BZS1962 and failing to stop and exchange information.
