NARRATIVE
26-3861 RTF
Narrative
The following occurred in the City of Renton, County of King, State of Washington.
On 05/19/2026 at about 1759 hours I was dispatched to an injury collision at NE 12th St and Lynwood
Ave NE.
Upon arrival I spoke to the driver of U-2 identified as Temour Askerov who told me that he was
northbound on Lynwood Ave NE. He stopped for the stop sign and then was proceeding to pull
forward onto NE 12th St to go westbound, when he heard a scraping noise and felt something. He
stopped and got out to see U-1 under the front of his vehicle. He then backed the vehicle up. He did
not see U-1 prior to the collision.
The rider of U-1, now identified as Emerson Wight stayed in place on the ground until the Renton
Regional Fire Authority arrived and examined him. He complained of pain to his right elbow and had
a small scrape. He had been wearing a helmet and did not complain of any other injuries.
Someone had moved his electric motorcycle over near the sidewalk. It had minimal damage to the
right handlebar and a plastic cover. There was minimal damage to the bottom front of U-2, mostly in
scrapes and paint transfer. See digital photographs uploaded to evidence.com for further details.
I did not get a chance to speak with U-1 prior to his mother driving him to the hospital. See Sgt
Sangder's report for further details.
It appears that U-1 was riding his electric motorcycle westbound on the south sidewalk of NE 12th St.
He attempted to cross Lynwood Ave NE without stopping and went under U-2 who was proceeding
onto NE 12th St. Based on the height of U-1's motorcycle and the fact that he came off the sidewalk
into the street from the wrong direction it is easy to see how U-2 would not have seen him.
Based on the physical evidence and what U-2 stated, I find U-1 is the proximate cause of the
collision.
This incident was captured on my Axon body worn video camera. This report is a summary of events
that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events. Statements have been paraphrased and
summarized.
