On 5/21/2026 1 was working as a uniformed patrol officer and driving a marked patrol vehicle for
the City of Renton. I was dispatched to a report of a hit and run that had occurred prior on the
street in front of 510 50th Ave S Renton/King/WA. Mekayla Liam was calling on behalf of her
mother, Erlinda A Alvarez DOB: 6/17/1969. Mekayla advised that someone had struck her
mother's blue 2014 Honda CRV WA/CPP0363.
I called Mekayla and she advised that on 5/20/202 at 0020 hours someone backed down the hill
in front of her home and struck the CRV while it was unoccupied and parked in a visitors parking
space. She advised that the damage was to the driver side front headlight and bumper. She said
that they had Ring footage of the collision and they were willing to press charges.
Mekayla sent me the video via Axon Evidence, and it showed a light colored 4-door sedan back
rapidly down the hill,the vehicle veered and struck the CRV with its passenger side front
door/quarter panel area before fleeing the scene.The footage does not capture a plate or driver
description.
I provided Mekayla with a case number.
Nothing further.
