EH05303 CASE# 26-3480 OF COLLISION 05/05/26 07:02 OF CbLLI510N NARRATIVE blk/2 lane 3 gold/1 cut off reck no ins CC On 5/5/2026 at about 0702 hours within the city limits of Renton/King/Wa I responded to a 2 vehicle blocking crash that was stopped at the 405 overpass on Maple Valley Hwy. A Tukwila Police Officer was onscene when I arrived. The crash was blocking the inside left turn lane to southbound 405. 1 collected the information/documents provided by TPD and had him assist me in moving the two vehicles off the roadway into the parking lot of Big Foot Java. I contacted the driver of unit 2 who told me that she had made a lane change when it was safe with room. She told me she is a CDL professional driver and is familiar with traffic safety. She said after her lane change that took place in front of unit 1, that unit 1 intentionally sped around her, cutting her off and making contact with her vehicle. The vehicle to vehicle strike was near there her minor child son was seated. She teared up telling me scare her son was from this event. She did not complain of injury and damages did not require a tow truck. I contacted the driver of unit 1 ID'd by his matching picture WADL as Riggo, Daniel James 04-01- 1998. Riggo told me he was in lane three out by the old Shari's, 1800 block of Maple Valley Hwy. Riggo said unit 2 made a lane change in front of him and he didnt like that she did it. To paraphrase Riggo he said, "Fuck that she aint cutting me off, that bitch." Riggo continues to tell me that he intentionally sped up, swerved over into the next lane and cut unit 2 off, striking her vehicle to show her. He told me he didnt feel that she should get away with her driving, so he checked her. Unit 1 was not able to provide valid proof of insurance and told me he did not have it. He did confirm his address in Renton/listed is valid and he will receive mail. He did not complain of injury and damages did not require a tow truck. Ref RCW 46.61.500, Reckless driving—enalty. (Effective until January 1, 2029.) (1) Any person who drives any vehicle in willful or wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property is guilty of reckless driving. Violation of the provisions of this section is a gross misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to three hundred sixty-four days and by a fine of not more than five thousand dollars. This is clearly defined under Reckless Driving by willfully and wantonly cutting off and crashing into unit 2 because he didnt like her lane change in front of her vehicle. Riggo did this with a minor child in unit 2 and the contact was near were unit 2 passenger was seated. He was not able to provide required proof of insurance. After explaining to Riggo how to respond to his insurance ticket and the charging documents for the 2 criminal charges he told me he did not have any additional questions. Shortly after walking away from Riggo he began violently acting out yelling and punching his steering wheel and roof and interior of his car. It was shaking his truck and continued for about 2-3 minutes. I mentioned to Sgt Jacobs that after speaking to Riggo and now this he must have some anger management issues. With this type of behavior he is a danger to the public and himself. Riggo said he would respond to the notice from the courts when received.
