Renton Case#26-4014
On 05/24/2026 at 1603 hours I was dispatched to Park Ave N/N 10th St, in the City of Renton, King County,
Washington. I was responded to the call of a recent non-injury, blocking, motor vehicle collision. This incident
was captured on my body worn video camera.This report is a summation of events that occurred and is
not an exact sequence of events.
Upon arrival, I contacted all involved parties on N 10th St,just east of Park Ave N.
I identified Unit 1 as a silver 2018 Nissan Versa (WA LIC#CVU2895) being driven by the registered owner
of the vehicle, identified by her WA DL as Sofia P Benavides(DOB 03/17/2007).
1 identified Unit 2 as a black 2026 Toyota Grand Highlander(WA LIC#A9293309) being driven by the
registered owner of the vehicle, identified by his WA DL as Kumar Sandeep(DOB 08/07/1986).
Both Unit 1 and Unit 2 drivers provided me with their respective driver licenses, registration and proof of
insurance. Unit 2 driver complained of minor pain to his right leg,though he declined to have Renton Fire
respond to the scene to evaluate him further.
In speaking with both parties,they stated that Unit 1 vehicle had been parked on the north shoulder of N
10th St as Unit 1 driver used a nearby ATM machine.As Unit 1 vehicle attempted to leave their parking
spot, and merge back onto N 10th St, Unit 1 vehicle collided with the passenger side of Unit 2 vehicle,
which was traveling westbound on N 10th St.
I observed damage to both involved vehicle consistent with the version of events provided. I took pictures of
each vehicle and sustained vehicle damage and later uploaded all photos to Axon Evidence.
I provided each unit involved with a business card, case number and answered their remaining questions.
I then cleared the scene.
