Narrative
On 05/15/2026 at about 1531 hours, I was working uniform marked patrol as 1R21 when I was dispatched to
take a report of a non-injury hit and run motor vehicle collision by phone. The collision occurred on
05/12/2026 at about 0645 hours at the intersection of NE 3rd St/Sunset Blvd N within the city limits of Renton,
King County, Washington. I called and spoke to Angela K. Eaton who originally reported the collision online,
but she was later informed that her report was rejected and needed to be reported to an officer.
On 05/12/2026 at about 0645 hours,Angela was driving her vehicle (Unit 2-2024 Subaru Crosstrek with
Washington state license plate CNK1803)westbound on NE 3rd St when she stopped at Sunset Blvd N for
traffic that was stopped in front of her. Unit 2 was occupying the second lane from the center line. Angela was
at the intersection preparing to turn left onto Sunset Blvd N when a vehicle (Unit 1-described by Angela as a
beige or silver colored older model BMW four door sedan with damage to its front hood and unknown license
plate) struck the rear of Unit 2. Both drivers exited their vehicles, and the unidentified suspect driver of Unit 1
apologized to Angela. Angela suggested they both go to the nearby Westernco Donut parking lot(251 Sunset
Blvd N). The unidentified suspect drove away and did not meet Angela in the parking lot. Angela described
the suspect as follows: white male, late 40s in age, about 5'-11" in height, medium build, bald head, possibly
spoke with an Ukranian accent, wearing unknown clothing. Unit 2 had damage to the rear bumper and it was
driveable. Angela did not complain of any injuries. Unit 1 had front end damage, and the suspect did not
appear injured. No other passengers were with Unit 1 or Unit 2.
The suspect did not make any attempt to give his name, contact information or insurance information before
fleeing the scene of the collision. Angela may be able to identify the suspect if she saw him again. I gave
Angela the Renton PD case number over the phone.
