On 5/5/2026 1 was working as a uniformed patrol officer and driving a marked patrol vehicle for the
City of Renton. I was dispatched to a report of hit and run that had just occurred near the intersection
of SW 7th St and Lind Ave SW Renton/King/WA. The caller was reporting there was no injury and
both vehicles had pulled to the side of the roadway.
I arrived on scene and located a 2022 Ford Escape WA/CCX7779 (Unit 3) on the roadway. I had the
driver pull into a nearby parking lot and confirmed he was not injured. He was identified by his WADL
as Joe W Tolliver DOB: 8/31/1931. Joe said that he was driving east in the #2 lane of SW 7th St. He
said that a green Honda CRV was driving west in the #2 lane of SW 7th and crossed the center line.
The Honda struck the white vehicle driving in front of him and pushed it back into the Ford. There was
damage to the driver side front fender of the Ford, it was drivable, and there was no airbag
deployment.
Joe said that he was certain it was a dark green Honda CRV with a partial plate of WA/4381. He said
that the suspect vehicle fled southbound on Lind Ave SW, and he was not able to see the driver. Joe
advised he would like to press charges if the driver was identified.
Joe advised he did have a dash camera, I sent him an Axon Link, and he said he would upload the
footage when he had someone available to help him.
I then went and spoke with the driver of the 2018 Hyundai Elantra WA/BKH8112 (Unit 2), he was
identified by his WADL as Brendon J George DOB: 1/25/1981. Brendon said that he was driving east
in the #2 lane of SW 7th St when the Honda crossed the center line coming the opposite direction. He
said that he was struck head on and pushed back into Unit 3. There was heavy damage to the front
bumper from the collision with the Honda and damage to the rear fender, and passenger side doors
from being pushed into Unit 3. He advised he was not injured; he did not request a tow and was able
to move his car off the roadway.
Brendon said that the suspect driver never exited his vehicle and fled the scene south on Lind Ave.
Brendon was not sure if he wished to pursue charges at this time.
Brendon did have a picture of the collision after it had occurred from a passerby, this photograph was
uploaded to Axon Evidence.
The photograph showed an older, dark green Hyundai CRV with aftermarket wheels. The windows
appear heavily tinted, and the driver is not visible. He also had a photograph of the Honda fleeing the
scene, this one was too far away to identify a license plate.
I could not use Flock Camera to search the plate.
On 5/19/2026 1 reviewed dash camera footage of the collision submitted by Mr. Tolliver. The footage
showed the Honda directly after impact, as both victim vehicles backed away and began to move off
the roadway the Honda turns on its left turn signal and flees the scene south on Lind Ave. I could not
get a clear view of the driver due to either glare or tint on the windshield.
I was able to get a license plate at WA/CTE4381, this returned to a green 2000 Honda CRV to a
Dennis L Trobee DOB: 7/28/1970 to a Seattle address.
On 5/26/2026 1 performed a LINX check of Dennis and was able to locate a phone number from 2019,
1 called the number and recieved a message saying the owner was unable to accept calls.
I sent an RPD Hit and Run Notofication Letter to Dennis's DOL address.
Nothing further.
