Door(s) Rear Collision 2026-00004179 Paqe 3 OF 5 Case Number 2026-00004179 Officer Narrative Narrative 26-4179 This incident was captured on my body worn video camera.This report is a summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events. Statements have been paraphrased and summarized. Assignment On 05-30-2026 at 1638 hours I was dispatched to a non-injury blocking collision in the 1500 block of Benson DR S. Statement of Driver 1 Driver 1 stated he was riding a motorcycle northbound on Benson DR S when he attempted to stop at a traffic signal and collided with the rear of Unit 2. Driver 1 stated he applied the front brakes, but they did not work properly. Driver 1 was unable to provide a drivers license with motorcycle endorsement, proof of insurance, and registration for the vehicle. I did not observe any damage to Unit 1. Driver 1 did not have any complaints of injury and declined medical care. Statement of Driver 2 Driver 2 stated she was stopped at the traffic light at the intersection of Benson DR S and S Puget RD when Unit 1 struck her vehicle from behind. Scuffing to Unit 2's bumper did not appear to meet the damage threshold. Driver 2 and their passenger did not have any complaints of injury and declined medical care. Statement of Driver 3 Driver 3 stated his vehicle was also hit by Unit 1, but no damage occurred. Driver 3 stated he was riding with Driver 1 and observed as Unit 1 could not come to a stop and collided with Unit This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State. !declare underpenalty of perjury under the laws of the State of Washington that the foregoing is true and correct. Driver 3 did not have any complaints of injury and declined medical care. Proximate Cause Based on the statements of both drivers, I determined Driver 1 to be the proximate cause of the collision by being unable to stop at the traffic signal, causing Unit 1 to collide with Unit 2. Disposition I emailed a case number to both drivers. I completed Sector citation 6AO284889 to be mailed to Driver 1 for not having a motorcycle endorsement(RCW 46.20.500) and operating a motor vehicle without insurance (RCW 46.30.020). 1 issued a verbal warning for failure to transfer title within 45 days (RCW 46.12.650) 1 certify(declare)under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of Washington that the foregoing is true and correct.
