EH07519 CASE# 26-4184 OF COLLISION05/31/2600:34 NARRATIVE On 05/31/2026, 1 was working uniformed patrol in a marked police car as 3R23. At approximately 0032 hours, I rolled up to a single-vehicle collision at around the 2400 block of Maple Valley Highway (MVH), which is located within the city limits of Renton, County of King, Washington. At around this time, a call for service came in reporting the same collision at the same area. I identified Unit 1 as described above. When I arrived at the area, I found Unit 1 in the middle of the roadway in the westbound lanes of Maple Valley Highway. The front end of Unit 1 was facing westbound and blocking all of lane 1 and part of lane 2. 1 got out of my patrol vehicle and saw that the vehicle was unoccupied. I also noticed that no airbags appeared to have been deployed. I did not notice any obvious signs of any injury inside the vehicle or any other people around the area of the vehicle. As I took a look around the vehicle, I noticed that the entire driver's side of Unit 1 was damaged. There were large dents and scuffs. I also saw that the rear windshield appeared to have completely broken off and was lying in the westbound lanes of travel adjacent to the vehicle. At this time, I asked the King County Sheriff's Office (KCSO) to conduct a knock-and-talk with the registered owner of the vehicle to see if they knew where and who had their vehicle. A KCSO deputy got back to me over the phone and reported that the subjects at the house were the parents of the registered owner of the vehicle as listed above. They mentioned that Unit 1 was indeed the owner of the vehicle and should have had possession of it. KCSO did mention that when they attempted to inquire more about the registered owners' whereabouts, the parents became evasive and did not answer questions anymore. KCSO did provide me with a possible phone number for the registered owner. I attempted to call the phone number, and it went to a dead line. Gene Meyer Tow eventually arrived at the location and took possession of the vehicle. I later went back to the crash location to get a better understanding of the events that led up to the crash. As I drove eastbound on MVH just past the Classic's Sports Bar nearby, I noticed what appeared to be fresh skid marks in the roadway that went from lane 2 of eastbound MVH to lane 1. Adjacent to lane 1 were a set of concrete barriers that appeared to have scuff marks on them. As you continue eastbound, there appear to be more skid marks from the concrete barrier toward the yellow directional divider that suggest that Unit 1 spun out before coming to rest facing westbound on MVH in lane 1 of westbound MVH. It should be noted that this roadway has sharp "s" curves as you drive either direction on this stretch of MVH. Associated photos were uploaded to Evidence.com to be added to the case file. It is unknown who the driver of Unit 1 is at this time. This concludes my report. I certify (declare) under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of Washington that the foregoing is true and correct.
