Unless otherwise noted,the following occurred within the city limits of Renton, county of King, state of
Washington.
On 05/31/2026, 1 was working as a uniformed police officer for the city of Renton.At approximately 0245
hours, I was dispatched to a hit-and-run report to be handled by phone. Any statements referred to have been
paraphrased and summarized.
Prior to contacting the reporting party, I learned that the accident occurred at or near the intersection of
Renton Ave S and S 132nd St. It happened about 15-20 minutes prior to the 911 call (call created at 0235
hours).The fleeing driver supposedly occupied a blue/black 2020 Subaru BRZ(WA lic/CTV7369).
I called the number provided and spoke to Osmin R Hernandez-Zuniga (03/16/2000—WA Doff photo). He is the
registered owner of a gray 2015 Ford Focus (WA lic/CPU2544). In sum, he advised that he was headed "down
the hill" (eastbound) on Renton Ave S in the far right-hand lane.As he approached the dispatched
intersection,the Subaru attempted to pass him on the right, causing damage all along the passenger side of
his vehicle.The suspect never stopped to try and exchange information or identify himself. He continued all
the way to an intersection (unspecified) near Renton Technical College, 3000 NE 4th St.There, Osmin pulled
along side him and requested him to stop.The driver dismissed his request and continued, stating he had
insurance.At this point, Osmin gave up and returned home. It should be noted that he told me he does not
have liability insurance on his vehicle. He advised he tried to purchase it recently but his card was declined.
The driver of the suspect vehicle could be described as a light-skinned or possibly Hispanic male in his mid-20's
with curly hair. Even with the vague description, he believes he would recognize him if he saw him again. In
addition, he would like to press charges should this person be identified.
I responded to Osmin's residence and captured photos of his vehicle.The damages I observed were consistent
with what he described. I uploaded the photos to the case file via AXON Capture.
