The following briefly describes the application and the necessary Public Approvals. See also https://bit.ly/2KibMFX PROJECT DESCRIPTION: 2018 DOCKET 13 GROUP B. Variance Procedures: Update variance procedures to provide the Community and Economic Development Administrator with the authority to grant variances from certain development regulations, consistent between residential, commercial, and industrial land uses. This docket item aims to expand the Administrator’s authority to grant relief from a number of development standards under Title IV: specifically, variances for setbacks, lot coverage, lot width, lot depth, allowed projections into setbacks, and building height for commercial and industrial land uses. Short Plat/Formal Plat Streamline Process: Procedural changes for short plats and formal plats. Specifically, amendments to code for completion requirements and expiration periods, specifying the number of permitted requests for additional time extensions that can be granted by the Hearing Examiner, and minor corrections to Code that would correct punctuation and update language to be consistent with other sections of Code. DATE OF APPLICATION: June 12, 2018 NOTICE OF COMPLETE APPLICATION: June 29, 2018 OPTIONAL DETERMINATION OF NON-SIGNIFICANCE (DNS): As the Lead Agency, the City of Renton has determined that significant environmental impacts are unlikely to result from the proposed project. Therefore, as permitted under the RCW 43.21C.110, the City of Renton is using the Optional DNS process to give notice that a DNS is likely to be issued. Comment periods for the project and the proposed DNS are integrated into a single comment period. There will be no comment period following the issuance of the Threshold Determination of Non-Significance (DNS). This may be the only opportunity to comment on the environmental impacts of the proposal. A 14-day appeal period will follow the issuance of the DNS. PERMITS/REVIEW REQUESTED: Environmental (SEPA) Review OTHER PERMITS WHICH MAY BE REQUIRED: No other permits are expected at the time of this posting. REQUESTED STUDIES: No permits are requested at the time of this posting. CONSISTENCY OVERVIEW: Environmental Documents that Evaluate the Proposed Project: Environmental (SEPA) Checklist Development Regulations Used For Project Mitigation: The project will be subject to the City’s SEPA ordinance and other applicable codes and regulations as appropriate. Proposed Mitigation Measures: No mitigation measures are proposed at the time of this posting.
