Power Equipment Revised Location at PW Shops ! 1 Jack Odell From:New Generation Electric <admin@ngeelectric.com> Sent:Wednesday, April 8, 2026 5:28 PM To:Jack Odell Cc:Emily Morton Subject:Change Order Request – Maintenance Shops Transformer & Panel Relocation Hi Jack, I wanted to document a field issue we encountered today at the Maintenance Shops site and request a change order. While preparing for installation of the transformer and panel at the planned location near the chiller enclosure, we identified a conflict due to the presence of the paint dust collector system within the fenced area. Based on site conditions and discussion with Inspector Grant (who was onsite today), the originally designed location does not provide a compliant or workable installation space. As a result, we were directed to relocate the transformer and panel to the north side of the fence, maintaining approximately 10 feet clearance from the existing equipment. Additionally, we had already installed EMT conduit along the wall per the original routing. Due to the relocation and exterior exposure requirements, this installation will need to be removed and replaced with rigid conduit. Summary of Change: x Relocate transformer and panel to north side of fenced area (~10 ft away) x Demolition of previously installed EMT conduit x Install new rigid conduit to meet code and site conditions Cost Impact: x Material (Rigid Conduit, fittings, etc.): $2,500 x Labor: 3 electricians x 8 hours = 24 hours @ $195/hr = $4,680 x Total Change Order Request: $7,180 (excluding tax) Additionally, this change will impact our current schedule. We anticipate approximately a 1–2 day delay to accommodate demolition, procurement of rigid conduit materials, and reinstallation. We will make every effort to minimize the delay and maintain overall project progress. This issue is due to existing field conditions and design limitations not reflected in the plans. We proceeded per drawings and coordinated onsite with Inspector Grant and your team before determining the revised approach. Please review and let us know if you would like us to proceed under this change order. CAUTION: This email originated from outside the City of Renton. The original plan indicates four conduit runs (2 EV and 2 EV Ready). Due to limited installation space in the field, we are only able to install one EV Ready conduit. As a result, one 250-ft EMT conduit run will not be installed. To be fair, we have included a deductive credit for this change as follows: x 250-ft EMT @ $1.59/LF = $397.50 x Labor: 5 hours @ $195/hr = $975.00 x Misc. fittings and materials = $77.50 Total Deductive Credit: $1,450.00 This credit will be reflected in the updated change order, along with the added cost for the transformer/panel relocation and conduit revisions.
