INSTALLATION (LEGACY SQUARE – AREA 1)
THIS AMENDMENT, dated for reference purposes only as May 7, 2026, is by and between the
City of Renton (the “City”), a Washington municipal corporation, and Urban Artworks
(“Consultant”), a Washington State Nonprofit Corporation. The City and the Consultant are
referred to collectively in this Amendment as the “Parties.” Once fully executed by the Parties,
this Amendment is effective as of the last date signed by both parties.
Whereas, the City engaged the services of the Consultant under Agreement CAG-26-086, dated
March 3, 2026, to provide necessary services for the design, development and installation of
artwork for a visual experience at Legacy Square on the exterior wall of the adjacent building (a
“mural”) (referred to herein as the “Agreement”);
Whereas, the Parties wish to amend the Agreement to change the scope of work, and change the
compensation in order to address interim art installation and review public art.
NOW THEREFORE, It is mutually agreed upon that CAG-26-086 is amended as follows:
1. Scope of Work: Section 1, Scope of Work, is amended to modify the work as specified in
Exhibit A-1, which is attached and incorporated herein.
2. Compensation: Section 4, Compensation, is amended so that the maximum amount of
compensation payable to Consultant is increased by $27,210 from $50,000 to $77,210,
including any applicable state and local sales taxes. The additional compensation shall be
paid based upon Work actually performed according to the rate(s) or amounts specified
in Exhibit A-1.
3.All terms of the Agreement not explicitly modified herein shall remain in full force and
effect and such terms shall apply to Work performed according to this Amendment as if
fully set forth herein.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties have voluntarily entered into this Amendment as of the date
last signed by the Parties below.

Scope of Work (Amendment 1)
Project: Legacy Square Area 1 – Mural

Project Overview
Project 1:
Urban ArtWorks will install a City-designed artwork consistent with City branding on the
exterior wall mural in a manner substantively the same as presented in the proposal
submitted and referenced below. Coordination with scheduling will be through City
representatives, and dependent on site-ŜŕôèĖƱèϙèĺIJŜťŘŪèťĖĺIJϙÍIJîϙÍèťĖŽÍťĖĺIJϙŜèēôîŪīôŜϟ
Project 2:
Urban ArtWorks, in collaboration with muralist Nikita Ares, or another selected artist, shall
design and install an exterior wall mural at Legacy Square in accordance with the City’s
ôŗŪôŜťϙċĺŘϙŪÍīĖƱèÍťĖĺIJŜϙϼ>ϽϟϙēôϙıŪŘÍīϙſĖīīϙæôϙÍIJϙĺŘĖČĖIJÍīϙÍŘťſĺŘħϙèĺIJèôŕťϙèŘôÍťôîϙ

The design shall be entirely original and shall not be a pre-existing or previously installed
artwork adapted for the site. Scheduling for installation will be coordinated through City

Collaborate with the City of Renton, Arts Commission, and project
stakeholders to develop initial design concepts for the mural.
Incorporate community feedback where feasible.
Present design concepts for approval by the Renton Arts Commission

x Production and Installation Phase
o Prepare the wall surface appropriately, including cleaning, priming, and repair of
minor surface irregularities necessary for proper adhesion.
o Execute the approved mural design in a professional and workmanlike manner
consistent with the approved design.
o Ensure the artwork is completed in a professional manner and aligns with
ŕŘĺĤôèťϙŜŕôèĖƱèÍťĖĺIJŜϙċĺŘϙŗŪÍīĖťƅϠϙîŪŘÍæĖīĖťƅϠϙÍIJîϙÍôŜťēôťĖèϙĖIJťôIJťϟ
o Use high-quality, durable, exterior-grade materials appropriate for long-term
public exposure, including UV- and weather-resistant coatings and anti-ČŘÍƯĖťĖϙ
protection where feasible.

o At the end of each day work is performed, materials shall be removed from the

equipment to remain on site if removal at the end of each workday is deemed

o While on site, artists shall remain in their designated areas, as determined and

on site.

o Design Phase: March 1–31, 2026. Artist shall develop and submit a complete art

review and approval by the Renton Municipal Arts Commission and any other
required City approvals, including permitting, as applicable. No fabrication or
installation shall begin prior to written authorization from the City.
