The Renton Farmers Market welcomes back its partners at Kaiser Permanente
Washington, who will host ‘National Call Your Doctor Day’ tomorrow, Tuesday, June
12th. The market will be filled with fresh flowers and a bounty of farm fresh
produce this and every Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. through September
25th in the beautiful Piazza Park, located in Downtown Renton at the corner of
South 3rd Street and Burnett Avenue South. In addition to market fare, shoppers
will enjoy live music, tips from Master Gardeners, cooking demonstrations, and
children’s activities.
Join us on Saturday, June 16th for Renton’s first Juneteenth Celebration. The
celebration will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will include a 3‐on‐3
basketball tournament, music, food trucks, workshops, and more. Join us again on
Tuesday, June 19th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carco Theatre for our Juneteenth

A Department of Ecology grant in the amount of $2,075,095 was received for the NE
16th Street Jefferson Avenue NE Stormwater Green Connections Project. This grant
amount is $565,649 more than what was originally anticipated. The project will be
funded by this grant, plus city matching funds of $608,365.
Information about preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and
road closures happening this week can be found at

projects, and road closures will be at the following locations:
Monday, June 11th through Friday, June 15th, 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. North 4th
Street will be reduced to two lanes between Garden Avenue North and Park
Avenue North due to the construction of curbs and gutters for the new Sartori

Elementary School. In addition, one to two eastbound lanes of North 3rd Street
between North Park and North Garden Avenues will be closed for construction
of curbs and gutters for Sartori Elementary. Questions may be directed to

Monday, June 11th through Friday, June 15th, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The
intersection of East Valley Road and SW 19th Street will be closed for the I‐405
Direct Connector Project. Questions may be directed to Justin Johnson at 425‐

Monday, June 11th through Friday, June 15th, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Single
lane closure along northbound Talbot Road South between the northbound I‐
405 on‐ramp and the southbound I‐405 off‐ramp for the I‐405 Direct Connector

Monday, June 11th through Friday, June 15th, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Single
lane closure along the Talbot Road South ramp to northbound I‐405 for the I‐405

Monday, June 11th through Friday, June 15th, 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Expect
intermittent lane closures and traffic delays along Talbot Road South (SR 515)
related to the I‐405/SR 167 Interchange Direct Connector Project.
In addition, northbound and southbound nighttime lane restrictions and closures
along SR 167 and I‐405 are also scheduled this week related to the project. The
information outlines specific dates and time of the closure. Questions may be

Monday, June 11th through Friday, June 15th. King County will be conducting
pavement resurfacing projects on the following roads:
o 154th Place SE between SE Jones Road and the Renton city limits at 156th
Avenue SE: Nightly work June 11th to June 15th between 7:00 p.m. and
5:00 a.m. The road will be reduced to one lane with flaggers directing
traffic.
o SE 142nd Street between 144th Avenue SE to 154th Avenue SE: Daily
work June 11th to June 15th between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The road
will be reduced to one lane with flaggers directing traffic.

o 144th Avenue SE between SE 136th Street and SE 142nd Street: Daily
work June 11th to June 15th between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The road
will be reduced to one lane with flaggers directing traffic.

Monday, June 11th through Friday, June 15th, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Street
maintenance crews will be repaving the area affected by the February storm
water system failure that resulted in a massive sinkhole at 901 Rainier Avenue
North. Expect significant lane reductions both directions of Rainier Avenue
North in this vicinity. Please note it is possible the lane restrictions could extend
beyond 4:30 p.m. as crews work to expedite completion of the project.

Monday, June 11th through Friday, June 29th, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Utility
maintenance crews will be doing a sewer main extension project along NE 25th
Street between Edmonds Avenue NE and Ferndale Avenue NE. This project will
result in daytime closure of NE 25th Street. A detour will be in place that will
route traffic along Edmonds Avenue NE and NE 24th Street. Questions may be

Monday, June 11th through December 2018. Road closure on South 14th Street
between Smithers Avenue South and Davis Avenue South for utility construction.

Monday, June 11th through October 2019. The Renton Hill Utility Replacement
Project is underway with anticipated completion in May 2019. Following
completion of the utility project, an overlay of the affected surface streets will be
conducted as part of the 2019 overlay project. The overlay is scheduled to be
completed prior to October 31, 2019.
