Unless otherwise noted,the following occurred within the city limits of Renton, county of King, state of
Washington.
On 06/12/2026, 1 was working as a uniformed police officer for the city of Renton.At approximately 2032
hours, I was dispatched to a non-injury, non-blocking motor vehicle collision at Rainier Ave S and S 2nd St.
Portions of my involvement in the incident were captured on my department-issued bodycam.Any statements
referred to have been paraphrased and summarized.
I contacted the involved parties in the parking lot at AutoZone, 175 Rainier Ave S.The driver of unit 2 told me
that he was stopped for the stoplight at the dispatched intersection. While waiting for the right of way,the
front of unit 1 suddenly struck the rear of his vehicle.
The driver of unit 1 told me that the collision occurred because he was unable to stop in time before colliding
with unit 2, which was stationary at the intersection.
I observed that the rear of unit 2 suffered noticeable damage as a result of the collision. Unit 1 sustained little
to no damage. I captured photos of both vehicles and uploaded them to the case file via AXON Capture.
Nothing further.
