Questions and Answers No. 1 1. Question: Can you advise the arm and pole length for the davit lighting pole is supposed to be? Didn’t see any specifics noted and the Renton standard has them noted as being between 25’-40’. If a fixture is required, please advise what type is required. Answer: The streetlight foundation and install will be a 6-foot arm and luminaire per City of Renton Standard Plans 117.1, 117.1A, 117.1B, 117.3, 119, 120, and 121. Revised Electrical Plan sheets will be issued in Addendum No. 1. 2. Question: The spec calls for Carmanah SC315 G or Approved Equal. I am requesting an approved equal for the RRFB as JSF Technologies RRFB's Meet or Exceed the Carmanah Spec for RRFB's. Answer: The City utilizes Carmanah systems throughout its network for ease of maintenance, compatibility, and reduced repair costs. The contractor must provide sufficient documentation demonstrating that the proposed JSF system, along with any associated equipment and appurtenances, is fully compatible and able to communicate with existing Carmanah systems. If such documentation cannot be provided, the City will not accept the JSF RRFB equipment and it will not be considered an approved alternative. 3. Question: Are RRFB poles and RRFB cabinet to be RAL 9005 to match street light poles (SP6-07.2 / 9-08.2) or unfinished? Answer: Specifications for the RRFB poles and RRFB cabinet are provided in City of Renton Standard Detail 141.1, Note 5. Page 2 of 2 4. Question: Please confirm if the Pole Tag called for in the electrical note #1 for the RRFB pole is required. Per the Pole Tag detail on standard plan 139, the tag is intended for a signal and/or luminaire pole. Pelco indicated they do not offer any type of tag to go with the 4” RRFB poles called for. Answer: No pole tag is required for the RRFB poles—only for the illumination and signal poles. This note will be removed from the plans, and the revised sheets will be included in Addendum No. 1.
