HomeMy WebLinkAboutAddendum - 1AMENDMENT NO.1 TO AGREEMENT FOR PUBLIC ART MURAL AT HIGHLANDS NEIGHBORHOOD CENTER THIS AMENDMENT, dated for reference purposes only as June 9, 2026, is by and between the City of Renton (the “City”), a Washington municipal corporation, and The Artisan Acorn, LLC dba Acorn Murals (“Consultant”), a Washington State Limited Liability Corporation. The City and the Consultant are referred to collectively in this Amendment as the “Parties.” Once fully executed by the Parties, this Amendment is effective as of the last date signed by both parties. Whereas, the City engaged the services of the Consultant under Agreement CAG-26-091, dated March 16, 2026, to provide design, development, and final artwork for a mural on the Highlands Park and Neighborhood Center (referred to herein as the “Agreement”); Whereas, the Parties wish to amend the Agreement to change the scope of work, change the compensation, and change the time for performance in order to expand the design to the full measure of the building wall. NOW THEREFORE, It is mutually agreed upon that CAG-26-091 is amended as follows: 1.Scope of Work: Section 1, Scope of Work, is amended to add work as specified in Exhibit A-1, which is attached and incorporated herein. 2.Compensation: Section 4, Compensation, is amended so that the maximum amount of compensation payable to Consultant is increased by $24,200 from $20,000 to $44,200 including any applicable state and local sales taxes. The additional compensation shall be paid based upon Work actually performed according to the rate(s) or amounts specified in Exhibit A-1, which is attached and incorporated herein. 3.Time of Performance: Section 3, Time of Performance, is extended to complete the extended scope of work. All Work shall be performed no later than September 30, 2026. 4.All terms of the Agreement not explicitly modified herein shall remain in full force and effect and such terms shall apply to Work performed according to this Amendment as if fully set forth herein. Highlands Neighborhood Center Mural Expansion The Artist shall expand the approved mural design for the Highlands Neighborhood Center to increase coverage and extend the artwork to the full available width and height of the designated building wall. Work shall include: •Revision and expansion of the existing approved mural concept to create a cohesive composition that fills the full mural surface area. •Extension of existing design themes, colors, visual elements, and movement throughout the expanded mural area while maintaining consistency with the originally approved concept. •Adjustment of scale, placement, and composition to ensure the mural is visually balanced across the enlarged wall surface. •Incorporation of additional background, environmental, and/or artistic elements as needed to fully activate the expanded space and avoid large unpainted areas. •Preparation and submission of revised design renderings for City review and approval prior to installation. •Fabrication, surface preparation, materials, equipment, labor, and installation required to complete the expanded mural. •Completion of the mural in accordance with the approved design, project schedule, and applicable site requirements. The original approved mural scope covered approximately 80 ft x 8 ft (640 sq. ft.). The revised scope expands the mural to approximately 80 ft x 22 ft (1,760 sq. ft.), extending the artwork to fill the full wall at the Highlands Neighborhood Center. Acorn Murals’ pricing is based on surface texture, height accessibility, and design complexity, with mural pricing ranging from $25–$45 per square foot plus tax.
