Officer Narrative
Narrative
On 06/23/2026, 1 was working uniformed patrol in a marked police car as 3R23.At approximately
1826 hours, I was dispatched to a non-injury/non-blocking accident at the intersection of
Monroe Ave NE/NE 10th St,which is located within the city limits of Renton, County of King,
Washington. Dispatch advised that two vehicles were involved in a collision at the intersection
and were now pulled off to the shoulder, awaiting contact.
When I arrived at the call location, I located both involved vehicles just north of the intersection,
on the eastern shoulder. I identified all involved Units and their respective occupants as listed
above.
I was able to speak to the driver of Unit 1. She described the following:
The driver of Unit 1 stated that she was traveling northbound on Monroe Ave NE approaching NE
10th St.This intersection is a 4-way stop in all directions. The driver admitted that she
proceeded past the intersection and did not stop at the stop sign to continue northbound on
Monroe Ave NE.This resulted in the front end of Unit 1 colliding with the front end of Unit 2.
1 took a look around Unit 1. 1 noticed that the front passenger area of the vehicle sustained minor
damage.The front passenger bumper was slightly dented inward,with the adjacent headlight
broken. I also noticed that no airbags were deployed.
Unit 1 stated she was the sole occupant,was uninjured, and was wearing her seatbelt.
I was then able to speak to the driver and front passenger of Unit 2.They stated the following:
The driver of Unit 2 was headed westbound on NE 10th St, approaching Monroe Ave NE. She
mentioned she stopped at the westbound stop sign at the intersection. Unit 2 subsequently
proceeded into the intersection to make a left-hand southbound turn onto southbound Monroe
Ave NE.As Unit 2 was making her turn, Unit 1's front end struck the front end of Unit 2.
1 took a look around Unit 2. 1 noticed that the front bumper of Unit 2 sustained minor damage.
The front bumper sustained scuffing, scratches, and minor dents. I also noticed that the airbags
did not deploy.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.

Unit 2 and her passenger mentioned that they were both uninjured.They also mentioned that
they were both wearing their seatbetts.
Both Units were provided with a Renton PD business card with the associated case number for
their records.
Both Units were able to leave the scene under their own power.
Based on the totality of the circumstances, it appears that Unit 1 is the proximate cause of the
collision.
