The following occurred in the City of Renton, King County, Washington unless otherwise stated.
During this incident 1 was equipped with body-worn camera which records both audio and video.
Portions of the incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is not
intended to be an exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured
with the recording system. During this incident I was wearing a department issued uniform or jump
suit and outer carrier vest which was marked with "Police"on the front, "Renton Police"on the
back, with department patches on each shoulder of the uniform or jumpsuit, as well as a Renton
Police Velcro badge on my►eft chest. It would be immediately obvious to any reasonable person
that I was a Police Officer.
On 6/23/2026 at 1535 hours I was dispatched to a hit and run report that occurred at the
intersection of Rainier Ave S and S Grady Way.
The victim in this case was identified as Sarah Q. Azam (DOB: 07/05/2002). Azam stated that she was
driving her dads 2015 Mazda 3 (WA LP: CKS7198) on Rainier Ave S in the #2 lane of Southbound
Rainier Ave S. Azam stated that while stopped about 3 car lengths from the intersection for a red
light, a black 2005 Lexus RX (WA LP: CDN6317) that was in the#3 lane attempted to merge from the
#3 lane to the#2 lane in front of her.
Azam stated that the front drivers side bumper of the Lexus collided with the front passenger side of
her Mazda, causing minor damage. Azam stated that the other driver, an Asian female about 18 years
old, exited the vehicle and provided her with an insurance card. The female then left the area
without providing any other information. Azam later determined that the insurance provided was not
valid.
Azam was told by her insurance to file a report with the Police and seek civil remedies.
I provided Azam with the case number for the incident and advised her to email me if she decided to
file criminal charges at a later date.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.
