Origami (City of Renton Report) completed by Officer Grozav Narrative: On 06.18.2026 at 2033 hours, I was dispatched to a collision which occurred at 2031 hours near S 45 PL and Davis AVE S. The first officer arrived at 2036 hours. When I arrived, I found a white 2008 Audi Q7 SUV WA/CJR2472 backed onto a center median and over a light pole in the 400 block of S 45 PL. This is within the city limits of Renton, King County, WA. The road on S 45 PL is divided with a median. The Audi was partially on the south side of the median and about '/2 way backed into the median over the base of a light pole. The pole that the Audi backed into #4016c99 was still live, attached, and was blocking the north lane of S 45 PL. This was a one car vs. pole collision. I contacted the driver Juan Alberto Aguilar Serrano DOB/07.12.1972. I told him I was being audio and visually recorded. I asked for his license, and he said he didn't have a license. I asked if he had ID. Aguilar Serrano provided a photo WAID. I asked why he didn't have a license and he didn't answer. later ran Aguilar Serrano. He was clear and his DOL status is not licensed- eligible. Aguilar Serrano told me he speaks Spanish. I used Language Line for Spanish. My interpreter was Carlos #543119. Via Language Line 1 asked Aguilar Serrano if he was injured and he said he was not. Aguilar Serrano told me that he was parked on S 45 PL facing east on the south side of the street. Aguilar Serrano was going to go get gas for tomorrow. Aguilar Serrano turned on the car and could not stop it. Per Aguilar Serrano the brakes failed, and he decided to hit the median rather than the cars parked along S 45 PL. Aguilar Serrano later showed me where he was parked and it was no more than 1 00' from the impact with the light pole in the median. Aguilar Serrano told me that he does not have insurance. Aguilar Serrano provided the registration to the vehicle. Aguilar Serrano told me that the car belongs to him, but the registration shows it registered to Thao Doan. We called Gene Meyer towing but had to wait for PSE to arrive as the light pole was still "live." City of Renton Police Front Counter notified our city shops about the light pole. Officer Grozav completed a City of Renton Incident report (Called Origami). Aguilar Serrano was told I will be mailing him an infraction for No valid operator's license (with ID) and operating a motor vehicle without liability insurance. Sector Infraction #6A0001191 issued with a request that the infraction be mailed by the court. This incident occurred in the City of Renton, King County, Washington unless otherwise specifically noted. During this incident I was equipped with body-worn camera which records both audio and video. Portions of the incident were recorded. During this incident I was wearing a department issued uniform jump suit was marked with "Police" both on the back, and department patches on each shoulder of the jumpsuit, as well as a Renton Police Velcro badge on my left chest. It would be immediately obvious to any reasonable person that I was a Police Officer.
