NARRATIVE
26-4863 non-injury one car vs pole collision

Narrative:
On 06.21.2026 at 1849 hours, I was dispatched to a gray truck vs telephone pole collision at NE 4th
ST and Union AVE NE. I arrived at 1851 hours and found the collision west of Union in the 3900
block of NE 4th ST. NE 4th ST is a 4 lane undivided road with a center turn lane that travels east to
west.
A Gray 2018 Toyota Tacoma WA/C53640N hit a PSE power pole #167867 318112 that is located on
the south side of the street in the 3900 block of NE 4th ST. This address is within the city limits of
Renton, County of King, WA. There were no other vehicles involved and the power pole was
undamaged. This truck is registered to Jarrod Faehnrich.
I contacted Ruby and Jarrod Faehnrich outside of the truck and advised them that our contact was
recorded. Ruby was driving on an instruction permit with her dad Jarrod next to her to provide
instructions. Both Ruby and Jarrod provided their respective WA learner's permit/driver's license.
Ruby has a valid instruction permit, and Jarrod has a valid WADL. Ruby pulled out of the parking lot
of Angelo's at 3809 NE 4th ST. When she pulled right (east) onto NE 4th ST, the truck was into the
center eastbound lane. Jarrod told his daughter that she needed to get back in her lane. Ruby over
corrected and hit a PSE pole in the 3900 block of NE 4 ST. The pole is undamaged. Jarrod provided
proof of insurance and registration. Damage to the truck is the front bumper and into the engine
compartment.
No injuries. Airbags not deployed.
Vehicle towed by Gene Meyer towing.
No infractions will be issued in this case.
This incident occurred in the City of Renton, King County, Washington unless otherwise specifically
noted. During this incident I was equipped with body-worn camera which records both audio and
video. Portions of the incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is
not intended to be an exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured
with the recording system. During this incident I was wearing a department issued uniform jump suit
was marked with "Police" both on the back, and department patches on each shoulder of the
jumpsuit, as well as a Renton Police Velcro badge on my left chest. It would be immediately obvious
to any reasonable person that I was a Police Officer.
