Unless otherwise noted,the following occurred within the city limits of Renton, county of King, state of
Washington.
On 06/28/2026, 1 was working as a uniformed police officer for the city of Renton.At approximately 1726
hours, I was dispatched to a blocking motor vehicle collision at the intersection of N 3rd St and Logan Ave N.
Portions of my involvement in the incident were captured on my department-issued bodycam.Any statements
referred to have been paraphrased and summarized.
Upon arrival,the driver of unit 1 told me that he was in lane 2 traveling northbound, approaching the
intersection. He realized that he was set up to miss his eastbound turn onto N 3rd St.As he proceeded through
the intersection, he turned right to try and make the turn (through the southbound Logan Ave N merge
throughway), which is when he struck unit 2. Unit 2 was supposedly going northbound in lane 1.
The driver of unit 2 told me that he was headed northbound through the intersection when unit 1 made a
right-hand turn in front of him from lane 2.
Unit 2 was towed from the scene by Bankers Tow. Unit 1 was still operable. I captured photos of both vehicles
and uploaded them to the case file via AXON Capture.
I issued the driver of unit 1 a citation via mail (#6A0002943)for violation of RCW 46.61.290—improper turn.
Nothing further.
