Re: Archaeology – Review Comments
Dear Maya Simon:
Thank you for contacting the Washington State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO) and
Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation (DAHP) and providing documentation
regarding the above referenced project. We have reviewed Docket 21 Group B, D-253: RMF-2
Rezones with Comprehensive Plan Amendment. The SEPA checklist indicates that this is a
non-project action. Please be aware that Site 1 (W Sunset Blvd & Maple Ave SW) is located in
close proximity to archaeological site 45KI51. If proposed ground disturbing activities are
proposed at this location in the future, DAHP would like an opportunity to review and comment
on the project.
We also recommend that the affected tribes be consulted and would appreciate receiving any
correspondence or comments from the tribes or from other parties regarding cultural resource
concerns.
These comments are based on the information available at the time of this review. Should
additional information become available, our assessment may be revised.
