EH16966 CASE# 26-4120 OF COLLISION 05/28/26 13:11 OF CbLLI510N NARRATIVE On May 28th, 2026, at approximately 1311 hours, I was dispatched to a vehicle collision with reports of injury at the intersection of Logan Ave N and N 3rd St, within the City Limits of Renton, County of King, State of Washington. Upon my arrival, I observed heavy mechanism to the involved vehicles with airbag deployment as well. The Renton Regional Fire Authority (RRFA) responded to the scene for evaluation. While on scene, I collected each of the involved party's driving information and their independent recollection of the events leading up to the collision. The driver of Unit#1, Patricia Berger, stated that she was the sole occupant of her vehicle and that prior to the collision she was traveling sorthbound on Logan Ave N and approaching the controlled intersection of N 3rd St (in the left turn lane). Patricia had pulled into the left-turn lane and slowed to yield to traffic at the intersection. Patricia stated she intended to east onto N 3rd St. When Patricia made her turn, she failed to see Unit#2 traveling north on Logan Ave N in lane 2 of 2. Both vehicles collided in the intersection causing significant damage to the front passenger side of Unit#1. The driver of Unit#2, identified as Liban Farah, said he was the sole occupant of his vehicle and was traveling northbound on Logan Ave N and approaching the controlled intersection of N 3rd St in lane 2 of 2. Liban stated he was intending to continue north through the intersection. As he continued forward, he saw Unit#1 turn in front of his vehicle. Liban stated he tried to brake but was unable to avoid the collision and both vehicles collided causing significant damage to the front of Unit#2. An independent witness left their information with an assisting officer. Later, I spoke with the witness, identified as Hieu Huynn, and confirmed that Unit#1 turned out in front of Unit#2, causing the collision. Based on the above statements, I determined that the Driver of Unit#1 (Patricia) is the proximate cause for the collision due to not granting the right of way during a left turn causing a collision. The driver of Unit#1 violated RCW 46.61.185(1) by being the driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left within an intersection and not yielding the right-of-way to any vehicle approaching from the opposite direction which is within the intersection or so close thereto as to constitute an immediate hazard. Patricia was cited via mail. Both involved vehicles had to be towed due to extensive damage cause. An exchange of information was provided to all involved parties.
