EH17509 CASE# 26-4933 OF COLLISION 06/24/26 08:08 OF CbLLI510N NARRATIVE 26-4933 On 06/24/2026, 1 was working uniformed patrol in marked Renton Police vehicle #13379 and wearing a jumpsuit with Renton Police patches on each shoulder as well as the words "Police" written on the front and back of my external vest. The below described incident is intended to be a summarized version of what was captured on Axon Body Camera. At approximately 0754 hours, Kent Police and Valley Regional Fire (VRFA - E377) were dispatched to the intersection of SE 192nd Street and 108th Ave SE for a reported two-vehicle unknown-injury collision. Although the intersection is commonly associated with Kent, first responders determined the actual point of impact occurred just north of the intersection, placing the collision within the City Limits of Renton, County of King, State of Washington. Upon my arrival, the driver and sole occupant of Unit#1 was complaining of a facial injury. VRFA responded on scene and later transported the driver via ambulance to Valley Medical Center (VMC) for further evaluation. I made contact with the driver of Unit#1, later identified by pictured WADL as Abdulmajeed, at VMC. Abdulmajeed stated he was operating his vehicle northbound on 108th Ave SE, approaching the intersection with SE 192nd Street, in lane 2 of 2. Abdulmajeed reported that he believed Unit#2 had turned in front of him; however, he had no clear recollection of the events immediately preceding the impact. Unit#1 sustained significant damage to the front driver's side. The driver of Unit#2, who was operating a company vehicle, stated he was traveling southbound on 108th Ave SE and was stopped in the left-turn lane at the controlled intersection of SE 192nd Street. He reported that while waiting at a stale red light, Unit#1 lost control or veered into his stationary vehicle. The driver of Unit#2 and his passenger did not report any injuries. Unit#2 sustained significant damage to the front driver's side. I reviewed surveillance footage from the gas station business located on the northeast corner of SE 192nd Street and 108th Ave SE. The video clearly showed Unit#2 stationary in the left-turn lane when Unit#1 veered into it. There was no indication that Unit#2 had entered the intersection or made any turning movement. The cause of Unit#1's inattention or loss of control is unknown. Due to the gas station employee's inability to export the video, I captured a copy of the relevant footage using my body-worn camera to preserve the evidence. Based on the statements, physical evidence, and surveillance video, I cited the driver of Unit#1, Abdulmajeed, for Inattentive Driving in violation of Renton Municipal Code (RMC) 10-12-25. This violation is defined as operating a motor vehicle in an inattentive manner, including a lack of attentiveness required to safely operate the vehicle under prevailing conditions or failing to observe hazards in time to take appropriate action. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed from the scene. I provided each involved party with my business card, the case number, and an exchange of information form.
