EH18031 CASE# 26-4751 OF COLLISION 06/18/26 12:05 OF CbLLI510N NARRATIVE CC 26-4751 On 6/18/2026 at 1205 hours I was dispatched to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of NB i405 and Sunset Blvd NE in the City of Renton, King County, Washington. Pre-Collision Driver 1 stated that she was traveling South on Sunset Blvd NE approaching the i405 NB on-ramp in the #1 lane. Driver 2 stated that she was facing North preparing to make a lefthand turn from the left turn lane and cross over Sunset Blvd NE to enter the NB i405 on-ramp. Driver 2 was faced with a posted yield sign. Collision Driver 1 stated that Unit 2 failed to yield and pulled in front of her, causing the front passenger side bumper of Unit 2 to collide with the front bumper of Unit 1. Driver 2 stated that she attempted to stop but was unable to for some unknown reason. Driver 2 also stated that she thought Unit 1 was traveling fast. Driver 2 stated that the front bumper of Unit 1 collided with the front passenger side bumper of Unit 2. Driver 2 advised me that she does not have a valid drivers license and that she does not have insurance. Injuries Driver 2 complained of facial pain from the airbag and shoulder pain from the seatbelt. Driver 1 complained of a possibly broken wrist that presented with a significant contusion that I was able to see on scene. Driver 1 is going to follow up with me and advise of the extent of her injuries at a later date. Vehicle Disposition Both vehicles were rendered inoperable and were towed from the scene. Proximate Cause I determined that Driver 2 is the proximate cause of this collision because preferential right-of-way may be indicated by stop signs or yield signs and the driver of a vehicle approaching a yield sign shall in obedience to such sign slow down to a speed reasonable for the existing conditions and if required for safety to stop, shall stop at a clearly marked stop line, but if none, before entering a marked crosswalk on the near side of the intersection or if none, then at the point nearest the intersecting roadway where the driver has a view of approaching traffic on the intersecting roadway before entering the roadway, and then after slowing or stopping, the driver shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle in the intersection or approaching on another roadway so closely as to constitute an immediate hazard during the time such driver is moving across or within the intersection or junction of roadways: PROVIDED, That if such a driver is involved in a collision with a vehicle in the intersection or junction of roadways, after driving past a yield sign without stopping, such collision shall be deemed prima facie evidence of the driver's failure to yield right-of-way.
