UPSTREAM AND DOWNSTREAM.
10. ORDINARY HIGH WATER (OHW) TO BE VERIFIED IN THE FIELD BY USACE
REPRESENTATIVE.
11. IN-WATER WORK WINDOW IS FROM JULY 1 TO AUGUST 31.
1. MARK THE PRE-CONSTRUCTION GRADE ELEVATION ON THE FLOODWALL
FACE PRIOR TO STRIPPING. RESTORE FINAL TOPSOIL TO MATCH THE
MARKED ELEVATION.
2. CLEAR, GRUB, AND STRIP EXISTING VEGETATION, DEBRIS, AND UNSUITABLE
MATERIALS FROM THE DESIGNATED REPAIR FOOTPRINT. CAREFULLY STRIP
AND STOCKPILE ANY EXISTING RIPRAP AND VIABLE TOPSOIL FOR RE-USE.
3. EXCAVATE, GRADE, AND SHAPE THE SLOPE TO THE REQUIRED SUBGRADE
ELEVATIONS SHOWN ON THE CROSS-SECTIONS. COMPACT THE SUBGRADE
TO PROVIDE A FIRM, UNYIELDING FOUNDATION PRIOR TO MATERIAL
PLACEMENT.
4. PLACE RIPRAP SUPPLEMENTED BY IMPORTED ROCK TO THE SPECIFIED
THICKNESS, WORKING FROM THE TOE UPWARDS TO THE CREST. ROCK
SHALL BE MACHINE-PLACED (NOT END-DUMPED OR DROPPED FROM A
HEIGHT EXCEEDING 3 FEET) TO PRODUCE A WELL-GRADED, TIGHTLY
INTERLOCKING MASS WITH MINIMAL VOIDS AND TO PREVENT SEGREGATION
OF ROCK SIZES.
5. PLACE 6-INCHES THICK LAYER OF TOPSOIL (SUPPLEMENTED BY IMPORTED
TOPSOIL) ALONG THE CREST OF THE SLOPE AND PREVENT SLOUGHING
WHILE MAINTAINING A VIABLE SEEDBED. HYDROSEED THE PREPARED
TOPSOIL SURFACE.

FOOTPRINT.
3. INSPECT THE EXISTING RIPRAP SLOPE AND RESTORE ANY MINOR, LOCALIZED
ROCK DISPLACEMENT. RE-KEY EXISTING ROCK TO RE-ESTABLISH A TIGHTLY
INTERLOCKING MASS, SUPPLEMENTING WITH IMPORTED ROCK AS
NECESSARY TO FILL VOIDS.
4. PLACE A 6-INCH-THICK LAYER OF TOPSOIL (USING IMPORTED TOPSOIL OR
SUITABLE STOCKPILED MATERIAL) ALONG THE CREST OF THE SLOPE.
5. HYDROSEED THE PREPARED TOPSOIL SURFACE.
