Narrative
During this incident, I was equipped with a body-worn camera, which records both audio and video. Portions
of this incident were recorded. This report is merely a summary of the incident and is not intended to be an
exact transcription of the entire investigation or what may have been captured with the recording system.
was operating a fully marked Police Tahoe#309 which was equipped with overhead emergency lights and
sirens. I was also wearing my department issued Renton Police uniform clearly identifies me as a Police
Officer.

On 07/12/2026 at approximately 1530 hours I was dispatched to a non-injury collison at Main Ave S and S 3rd
St, within the City of Renton, King County, Washington.
I identified unit 1 in this collison as a 2022 Ford Focus (WA/LIC:AZM6123 VIN# 1FADP3K23GL294022).The
driver of unit 1 was identified as Chu V Ngo (DOB 02/16/1952). Unit 1 sustained minor damage to the front
end but was able to leave under its own power.
I identified unit 2 in this collision as a 2025 Lexus RX(WA/LIC: CVL0981 VIN#2T2BBMCA5SC104597).The
driver of unit 2 was identified as Gaynell Lavender-Barber(DOB 07/22/1955). Unit 2 sustained minor damage
to the passenger side and was able to leave under its own power.
Unit 2 advised me that she was traveling northbound in the left hand lane of Main Ave S, approaching S 3rd St.
Unit 2 began making the right hand turn onto Houser Way S when unit 1 continued straight from the right
hand northbound lane which caused the collision.The left northbound lane is straight or right turn when the
right northbound lane is for right turn only. Due to this the proximate cause of the collison according to unit 2
would be unit 1 attempting to go straight while in the right hand turn only lane.
Unit 1's story made less sense; he advised that he was inching forward to make a right turn and somehow unit
2 turned into him.This made little sense based on the damage to each vehicle which leads me to believe unit
2's version of events was the accurate one.
No injuries were reported and both vehicles left under their own power.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.
