Renton River Days 40th Anniversary takes place this weekend, July 24-26, at various locations around the city. Enjoy music a drone show pickleball, parade, food, arts, crafts, and more. All events are free and sure to entertain any age group all weekend. For a full list of hours, events, and activities visit www.rentonwa.gov/riverdays. • In May, Public Works partnered with the Renton Municipal Arts Commission to invite residents to leave their creative mark on the city by submitting original designs for storm drain or “manhole” covers. The project committee has selected five standout designs and needs your help selecting your favorite. Vote for your top two favorite designs by July 31 at www.rentonwa.gov/stormdrainart. • Mark your calendar for Tuesday, August 4 to celebrate National Night Out 2026. National Night Out is an annual community-building event that brings neighbors together, strengthens community partnerships, and promotes neighborhood safety. Residents are encouraged to gather with neighbors to host a neighborhood event and recruit volunteers to help organize the gathering. Register your event by visiting www.rentonwa.gov/nno so police and other public safety professionals can visit your neighborhood, have conversations, provide resources, and bring some swag between 5:30-8:30 p.m. • Information about preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and road closures happening this week can be found at http://rentonwa.gov/traffic. All projects are weather permitting and unless otherwise noted, streets will always remain open.  On-going construction work through Winter 2026.
