It may contain paraphrased conversations and may not be in the exact sequence of events. On 07/09/2026, 1 was working as a uniformed patrol officer and driving a marked patrol vehicle for the City of Renton. I was dispatched to a report of a collision with unknown injury that had occurred at the intersection of Main Ave S and S 3rd St, in the City of Renton, King County, Washington. A caller advised that two motor vehicles were involved, blocking the northbound lane on Main Ave S. One of the vehicles, a black Chevy Malibu, had their airbags deployed with two occupants in it. Several officers arrived on scene before me and noticed the airbag deployment in one of the vehicles. They called for Gene Meyer Towing and Renton Regional Fire Authority (RRFA) for possible injuries. The driver of the gray 2024 Lexus SUV (Unit 1: WA/CKJ9911) was identified by her WADL as Phi T. Nguyen (DOB: 09/25/69). Nguyen said that she was driving home eastbound on S 3rd St. Nguyen stated that she saw her signal light was red on Main Ave S but still drove through it. As she continued eastbound through the intersection, she struck the passenger side of the black Chevy Malibu (Unit 2: WA/BBA2944). The impact had pushed the Chevy Malibu into the center of the intersection nearing the railroad tracks. There was damage to Nguyen's front bumper where it caved in on the engine system. 1 observed fluid leaking from the front of her vehicle while it was parked in a nearby parking lot. There was no airbag deployment. I advised Nguyen that her vehicle was not drivable due to the fluid leakage. I asked Nguyen if she had any injuries, and she stated no. The driver of the black 2016 Chevy Malibu (Unit 2: WA/BBA2944) was identified by her WA driver's permit as Imani M. Lawson (DOB: 07/11/10). Lawson was driving her mother's car under her supervision who identified by her WADL as Shavonne L. Reynolds (DOB: 01/28/80). Lawson said she was driving sorthbound on lane 2 on Main Ave S. Both Lawson and Reynolds said they had a green light at the intersection. As they were crossing the intersection, both suddenly saw Nguyen's vehicle before it collided with them. Lawson said she was pressing on her brakes hard before Nguyen's vehicle collided with her passenger side. There was heavy damage to the Chevy Malibu's right passenger side doors and quarter panels. There was a combination of airbag deployment to the front and sides. I asked both Lawson and Reynolds if they had injuries or feelings of them. Lawson said she had a burning complaint on her left forearm. Reynolds said that she had a complaint of neck pain and to her right forearm. Both were evaluated by RRFA on scene and cleared. I provided an exchange of information to both parties involved including the case number. Both vehicles were removed from the scene by Gene Meyers Towing. Photos of the collision accident were uploaded to AXON Evidence.com. I cited Nguyen for failure to obey traffic control device (RCW 46.61.050) under SECTOR citation #6A0359432. This citation should be mailed to Nguyen's DOL address. This ends my report.
